Old Car City in White, Georgia contains the worlds largest known classic car junkyard. Visitors enjoy the beautiful vegetation of the deep south that is intertwined with the hundreds of cars that reside in Old Car City. Old Car City started as a small general store in 1931 and is still family owned and operated. Come enjoy the Old South environment, folk art, ghosts of beautiful classic cars, and much more! With over 34 acres and over 4000 American-made cars from the early 20th Century, these cars, trucks, vans, and even a couple school buses are placed in such a way as to be ideally suited for photos, videos and custom camera shoots. Over the 8 decades since first started, thousands of photographers, videographers, ad agencies and media companies have visited Old Car City USA. Popular news magazine and newspaper companies, like CBS Sunday Morning, the New York Times, the BBC and Georgia Public Television, have made press releases and/or video segments and transmitted it worldwide. Mayor of Old Car City USA, Dean Lewis, welcomes all who come out to visit his varied collection of automobile art with a little help from Mother Nature. You can come and just stroll along with winding paths for a nominal fee or, for a few dollars more, bring a camera and take pictures and/or videos and share them with friends. Among the many cars at Old Car City USA, there is the last car Elvis Presley ever bought back in 1977 just a couple months before he died. Also, a movie starring Andy Griffith and Johnny Cash used one of the cars that now call this place "home." The honorary mayor of the "City," Dean Lewis, is also an artist in his own rite with some of the most unique canvas...the styrofoam cup. In his upstairs loft, Lewis has hundreds of styrofoam canvases featuring his artistic talents on display along with some paintings he will proudly show off.
The old Cedar Falls train depot on Main Street has been a bank for all of the 30 years I've lived here. Yesterday, Regions Bank closed down this branch, moved out, leaving it empty. So far no word on what the historic building will be used for.
I've been commissioned to do a drawing of The Old Depot. This is the side of the building that's been requested. I drew it several years ago from another angle. Today, with the temperature hovering just below 50 degrees F, I sketched outside in Iowa for the first time since last fall. March 21, 2015

This old farm implement used to be located in an apple orchard in the countryside surrounding my home town of Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Since this photo was taken, the machinery has been carted away and the trees cut down. Someone has built a house on this land now, so the landscape looks a lot different. A lot of the apple trees this area are being cut down and replaced by vineyards, if the southern exposure and water drainage is right.
I took this shot when I had just gotten my Sony H2 camera and wasn't quite used to the settings on it, so I suppose it could have been better.
The grass is brown since it is just the early Spring. It was a very stark day when I took this.
I have travelled a while ago by train....met this friendly, optimistic, and charming old lady (80+). As real beauty comes from within, she proved to be an incredible beautiful and determined person. And the country costume is handmade sown by herself. now that can teach you patience :)!

I think this was a Welsh Chapel once. But it appears to be a private residence now. You can make out the old gothic windows behind the opaque glass/pvc
Taken at an open area where you could watch how houses in Norway looked back in the days. I took this picture only through a small hole in the door due to the door was locked.
Sulphur Mines, Paliorema, Milos, Cyclades, Greece.
On the east coast of the island, there's a small beach called Paleorema with crystal clear emerald water and yellowish pebbles from the sulphur of the area. Near the abandoned buildings of the Sulphur Mine that operated until 1957, you can still see wagons on the tracks, old rusty tools, machinery and spare parts in the wrecked storage rooms. It might be hard to believe by this description of industrial decay but, today, Paleorema is one the most secluded and beautiful beaches on Milos island.
