FINALLY WE FINISHED THIS POSTER

We moved to a new studio, so we wanted to create something for that purpose.

We made a poster with a lot of fun little vehicles and stuff. But we also made sure the poster is still cool for everybody else to hang in their room.

We had it offset printed in full color on 170 grams paper, with matte finish. Size: 50 x 70 cm (19.7 x 27.6 inch). Available for 15 Euro (excluding shipping costs). 100 signed copies available. Drop us a line at info@patswerk.nl for orders.

Oh yeah: the 3 guys sticking out of the stretched limo, that's us. Superstar style.

Side of an old building on Broadway that is apparently doomed to make way for an expanded Skytrain station. I didn't know that when I took this photo; just have always liked these signs but never happened past when the parking lot was empty before.

I photoshopped out a couple of "modern" parking signs from the brown lower wall.

Smallest way I can find to do a quarter plate offset. Very simple too.

With good understanding of Lego brick dimensions, you can achieve fine offsets (half the size of a bracket). See my post for details.

After reading an article on how this old house may be razed to build more parking lot, (boooo!) I decided to get a shot of it. Taken around 1:00am during a 'winter warning', I had a few wet flakes on the lens. Unavoidable, with a 25 second shot....

Many places at White Pocket show this curious feature: stripes with periodic offsets. Was a radial force applied when the sediments were only partially consolidated? Did slumping occur along a curved slope? The segments are remarkably intact. It doesn't look like something that would occur in soft sand, or in fully consolidated rock (which would crumble). Share your ideas.

This section is just below the cowboy dam, visible at top. See my White Pocket album for more examples.

Several photos taken by me with my iPhone as well as my other cameras. All mashed together and subjected to various apps on my iPhone before being taken back into Photoshop for further processing. Fun! :)

So far there are two working weathers. F3 Clear (5cf9c) and F3 Cloudy (5c8bd).

Some color grading adjustements in the palette, reduced grain even further too.

I wish that this tourist, posing on these steps for a friend, had looked in my direction while I was taking the shot rather than glancing off camera.

However, as I was stood there aiming at these steps when she obliviously walked into the scene and sat on them for 5 minutes it’s pretty clear that she couldn’t actually see me, so I should therefore not be surprised that she was not looking remotely in my direction.

It must be of great use to a street or wildlife photographer to become one with the landscape and be able to take images without the subject knowing you are there. Perhaps, therefore, I should count myself as blessed that I have managed to achieve this so effortlessly on so many occasions in major cities.

Yes, my life is difficult I agree.

For an upcoming group exhibition we designed these posters. They just got back from the printer, and they look great.

I got this far on this then realised that all I really wanted to do was pull out some superglue and strip/sheet styrene and make a real model.

And yes, it has an interior.

No, I'm not going to show it to you.

Why? I might finish it one day.

This was a great project to work on. It's always a great honor when people trust you to make something that is so important to them.
