Tried brazing em with the dummy axle in. This bike is gonna take a long time. After posting this I noticed the fork end isn’t fully grabbing the dummy axle. Did anyone else catch that?

Offset so the travel agent won't foul it when I apply the brake. The mounting plate is fairly stout steel, and the bag/rack are tiny enough so that there won't be any 45 pound loads on the rack, so given any luck it won't be stressed to the point of failure.

The neighbors' driveway was in shade because it was late afternoon by this time, on the perfect kind of hot summer day -- partly cloudy (no storm), not too hot, not too humid, but neither was it comfortable. It was almost comfortable in the shade.
I'd say the perfect summer day is about 84F (29C), dewpoint of 50-55F (10-12C), partly cloudy with a light breeze.
