There are three main organizations working on environmental peacebuilding between Jordan, Palestine and Israel. These organizations are the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies, the Amman Center for Peace and Development (ACPD) and EcoPeace/Friends of the Earth Middle East. Through a variety of tactics, these organizations use environmental issues to bring conflicting groups into dialogue. The goal of these institutions is to build peace between Israelis, Palestinians, and Jordanians with the hope of eventually reaching the highest levels of politics.

R.I.P. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Arthur and I were the music editors. Markus and Sabine Peters were the local editors, with Sabine being our main presenter. She was just like she looks in this photo: friendly, open, and honest. A lovely girl. Unfortunately, our collaboration never came to fruition. Twenty-four hours before the start, we had all the shows for the first afternoon ready when we learned that Production Company II was closing and being dissolved into PPG 1. Since PPG 1 was already fully staffed, it meant we were all unemployed. However, we could apply to PPG 2. I would have been hired as a regular music editor, but the job was ridiculous. Sitting at the computer all day, checking the program that some software had selected. Three days later, I was back at RPR Ludwigshafen. I stayed there until April 1991. Sabine got a job as a presenter at PPG 1.
I don't know when she left. But it wasn't for long.
Sabine died on December 28, 2025; she was 73 years old. R.I.P.
Moni Taxiarchon
The Taxiarches Monastery is located a kilometer from Glossa and some people call it “The Monastery of Archangels”. The Monastery is worth visiting as it offers old and well preserved icons, and religious art. It is situated opposite the monastery of Ag Anna. Both monasteries are now abandoned. The Monastery of Taxiarches is well hidden out of sight by overgrown plane and walnut trees.
Tradition states that on the east side of the mountain, the people of Skopelos began to build the monastery of Taxiarhes, in a place called Vatos, some 200 years ago. But when the walls reached the first meter in height, the construction could not be completed! The builders would still build, but in a strange way the walls would not get any higher. As if this wasn’t enough, every night the walls would move by themselves, and would set themselves in another place that was southeast and half an hour further away. Finally the builders gave in and managed to finish the monastery on its new site, leaving the first building half finished.
The nearby mountain caves are used as goat pens and there is a spring. During the Second World War, the partisans hid British, New Zealand and Greek soldiers here in the monastery, before helping them to escape to Turkey and the Middle East.

We found this raised hide open and were excited about its seating comfort. That was an ideal place for our lunch break. However, wild animals weren't visible. Afterwards we closed the door and continued our hike strengthened.
