Northern Shovelers (Spatula clypeata), Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. I guess the one at left is an eclipse male, even though this should be about the middle of breeding season.

Union Pacific's Rio Grande Heritage 1989 and Salt Lake Winter Olympics 2002 lead eastbound containers through Wilhelmina's Pass along the Weber River near Devils Slide, Utah. The train is half a mile east of the 1000 Mile Tree.
A northbound BNSF manifest flies up the Sacramento Sub at Pleasant Grove. This Pasco bound train had nine locomotives on it with one being a newly painted CEFX last out.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. As a child during the 80s wearing odd neon socks was a 'thing' and I loved it, wearing odd shoes seems to be on a completely different level! Enjoy.
With the dramatically colored male Wood Ducks in the background the lechitic female Wood Duck stands out in her unusual lack of color.
I have a big jar of bread tags. The majority are white but every once in a while a colour tag arrives. The coloured tags are definitely the odd ones out!
It seems like our cat "Squeak" really enjoys hanging out with "Ringo" the duck...she just climbs in next to him and he doesn't seem to mind.
not a polaroid, but i didn't want to forget its intriguing shape... and a good reminder, to carry the better cameras around with me more!
The building is the world-unique water tower for the city of Varberg, inaugurated in 2025. It is 187 metres long and just 9 metres wide, situated on a hill outside the city. The name of the water tower is "Våga", a combination of the Swedish words for "waves" and "to dare".
The tower is designed by "White Arkitekter", the winner of an architectural competition.

They seemed to get along fine! Perhaps the young Black-crowned Night Heron already understood the challenge - although I believe Great Blue Herons do occasionally consume turtles.
Seen at Los Angeles County Arboretum.
All our paper clips are the shiny silvery color except this one painted black one. I wonder where that came from.
It is definitely the odd one.

On my way to the river bank last night I came upon this wonderful scene.
A bunch of Swans were traveling down stream past two of their buddies who had stopped for a wash and brush up, the Black Swan was standing on one leg looking all around while it`s mate or friend was busy preening, we don`t see many black Swans so this one was lovely to see.
Shot from the Old Shoreham Toll Bridge where I had to work fast before the Flock, Heard or Bevy of Swans went under the bridge, the only names I could find for a group of Swans, I see there are a possible 19 names for a group of Swans.
Not really! More Father (right) and Son (left). Holding still for a very short moment.

Theme for this week's Crazy Tuesday....the key is to know you still fit, even if you are the odd one out. Happy Crazy Tuesday
I know it's very subtle, but you should be able to work it out if you look close enough 🐤🐤🐤💙🐤😊
The theme for this CrAzY Tuesday (3-Feb-2026) is 'Odd One Out'.

".... This road was paved by the hopeless and the hungry
This road was paved by the winds of change
Walking beside the guilty and the innocent
How will you raise your hand when they call your name?
Yeah, yeah, yeah
We weren't born to follow
Come on and get up off your knees
When life is a bitter pill to swallow
You gotta hold on to what you believe ...."
Our resident Wood Duck. I say resident because unlike all the other wood ducks in the area this one thinks it's a mallard. It hangs around with mallards in this tiny pond off the trail. If someone pays any attention to him, he gets off his branch and hides under the branches. His wife is understanding and while she misses her warm southern trips to California in the winter, she tolerates his fascination with mallards.
