Is it a vintage baby toy? An old carnival prize? Who knows? This odd thing has been hanging in my studio for years. I don't remember where it came from and can't explain why I still have it. I planned to sketch it and toss it out but strangely it only endeared itself to me more. Crazy!

It was just near sunset when I sat on my porch with my Olympus 300 and the FL-36 TTL Strobe. I had it set for TTL (through the lens) and shutter speed set at 1/1000 and lens at 150mm. No more syncing with TTL shooting. No hummers and then no hummers and then finally..... this guy landed and looked at me. i auto-focused and clicked the shutter just to catch this odd pose of him leaving. Remember that movie "Gone in 60 Seconds" ... how about "gone in a fraction of a second."
