For a party so media savvy i was struck by this poster of Gerry Kelly which has been erected upside down.
Is it a ploy to get you to think about it or a mistake?
Some shots of Wisconsin's House on the Rock as promised for randomchord inspired by his recent Pratchett quote postings and a bit of a Pratchett/Gaiman discussion.
In Gaiman's novel American Gods (one of my faves!!) the house is a portal that the gods use to transport themselves (via the carousel) into the mind of Odin for a group meeting to discuss the war between the old gods and the new. House on the Rock is a pretty odd and fantasy-like roadside attraction/tourist trap of a place. I read an article once where Gaiman said he actually had to tone down his original descriptions of House on the Rock in his book to make it seem like a more believable place.
Apparently HBO is making American Gods into a television series. Note to HBO: don't fuck it up!

I think it's very ODD that I never find the pot of gold at the end of these things. Instead of gold today, it was a rickety old barn and a silo :(
This shot was difficult to get. I wanted both in focus... I tried many angles and positions to get this to work.
If the mark was because of damage to the negative how come it is behind the branches ? Those are rain clouds in the background. It probably can be done with photoshop but it is way above my skill level or patience to learn.

Theme: Old Buildings.
I was attracted to this building because of its odd slanting walls. Upon investigation I discovered the sides are slats so air can move through. It is a design used for corn cribs by previous generations of farmers

The 36 Class tender was attached due to the tender for 5711 having already been dismantled and sent to Valley Heights, and 5711 requiring a suitable tender to be moved by rail
Am now waiting for a friend to arrive, keeping out of the rain in a
KFC. As usual am surfing, flickring etc when I hear something hit the glass wall & fall to
the ground. The guy who just arrives next to me has just pushed the
abandoned water bottle on the bench onto the floor. So odd. A small
gesture but it struck me as quite aggressive and unthinking. The
bottle could have easily been ignored or moved away but it was flicked
off. And he leaves soon with his empty cup left behind.
I guess I am a bit surprised as people here are usually
community oriented, clean up themselves and would normally just put it in the bin without a second thought.
