in the auditorium ceiling. These are some of the colours that are provided by lighting that changes on the white material lining of the dome. They can be turned on or off, or set to suit the occasion. Very effective!

Una de las nuevas referencias (de los iconos, que se dice ahora) de Nueva York es el intercambiador construido en parte de lo que fue el World Trade Center.
Como viene siendo norma en las obras del genial Calatrava, esta ha provocado una notable polémica por los sobre costes, defectos de ejecución, alguna que otra visible chapuza, incumplimiento de los plazos, etc., etc.
No sé, ni me importa demasiado, cuanto hay de verdad en esas críticas, bastante similares por cierto a las que hubo en su día por la obra del hoy visitadísimo Brookling Bridge, lo que sí sé es que a mí el Oculus me gusta y me impresiona. Es verdad que me interesa mucho más por dentro que por fuera, sobre todo porque siempre me da la impresión de que la alineación no es la correcta. En todo caso, me alegra pensar que en unos años estará incorporado como uno de los clásicos imprescindibles del circuito turístico de la ciudad.

Inside the Pantheon looking up. The hole in the center of the ceiling is called the Oculus and the squares decorating the dome are called coffers. There you learned something about architecture.
Really difficult to get a good photo inside this building. The camera has a hard time metering the light because it is dimly lit indoors even though the sunlight enters through the top. And even though you cannot see anyone in this photo it is very crowded and hand-holding this shot while tourists bump into you was no easy task.

The ISS was moving from SW (bottom right) to NE (top left). Polaris is the star near top center and Vega is the bright star below the center of the image.
