The Pantheon's oculus provides the majority of the light entering this highly acclaimed architectural marvel that displays the name of its architect on its facade. This building is the best preserved of all ancient buildings. It was originally built to stand as a temple to ALL the Gods. And based of its condition, it has received their blessing. Every municipal building in the world or dome ever built has copied some element of this ancient structure or its balanced proportions. This is the structure to be admired and respected. The Pantheon holds the record for the largest unreinforced concrete dome. The interior of the roof was possibly intended to symbolize the arched vault of the heavens. The Great Eye at the dome's apex is the source of all light in the interior. The oculus also serves as a cooling and ventilation method. During storms, a drainage system below the floor handles the rain that falls through the oculus.

The oculus at the centre of the auditorium is a magnificent focal point inside the Main Auditorium. The lantern was cleaned, sections of glass were replaced and the a fresh coat of paint was applied to the beautiful plasterwork.

They're pretty nice to look at when all the tracking lights are on, as well.
