The Pantheon dates to 118 and 125 and was constructed under the Emperor Hadrian (an earlier pantheon was constructed under Marcus Agrippa in 27 BC but it was destroyed by fire in 80.

The Pantheon is the best preserved of Roman architecture and is an engineering marvel. The concrete dome sits on a series of barrel vaults which can be seen on the outside drum of the building. The height and diameter of the interior is the same at 145 Roman feet, so bascially a sphere of 145 Roman feet can fit inside the building. Most of the exterior stucco and interior marble were stripped over the years.

In the 600s it was given to the pope and has been used as the Church of St. Mary and the Martyrs ever since.

Como el Partenón de Roma, esta torre de Guimerà tenia un oculus, situado en el centro de la cúpula, que permite la entrada de luz (y lluvia) en el edificio....

I took a few different exposures of this and my favourite turned out to have an overexposed sky. I think that the haziness seems to give the oculus more life.
