Version 3 of the Octave Mandolin DIY bridge pickup, is a _big_ improvement, I've got the Cortado-based design for this thing picking up low end like a goddamn champ.
There may be other applications if an hypothesis I've made proves out.

Note here an in other pics the touches and feet on the palm keys and compare them to those on the gold-plated New Wonder alto that is featured in its own set.
The palm keys on this horn are improved. The key touches are longer and larger and rise higher off the horn's body. The metal seems to be harder and more robust than on earlier horns.
Conn also changed how they are footed. Here and in other pics note how underneath each palm key touch there is corked metal foot incorporated into the key itself. It also appears that the posts that anchor the palm keys are a bit higher than on earlier horns, giving the keys space to open enough to properly vent the horn.
Note here the distinctive inverted chevron shape of the octave touch, a classic Conn feature that first appeared on the New Wonder II horns.
Octave Dua, Belgian secondary tenor, supporting/cameo artist and stage director (1882-1952). Entirely forgotten, despite a superb international career. Hence the scarcity of his iconographic/acoustic material.
