A sizable Christmas Eve snow storm knocked down this pine tree at South Binfield, TN. Due to the holiday, no trains ran until the afternoon of the 25th. I ran across the tree with the first train less than 10 miles away. After calling it in to the CSX hotline, the dispatcher was able to get the train stopped before hitting the tree.
This is the double bar pullup in a Marine obstacle course. The lower bar is 8 feet, you jump, grab that and get yourself over the 10 foot bar at the top.
I'm building a physical fitness facility for the US Navy at NSA Panama City. This facility trains combat divers for the Navy, the US Marines, the US Air Force and Coast Guard.
This obstacle course is a part of the project. It's not finished in these shots, there will be a 6" bed of cypress mulch chips placed down the course next week
I was in the Marines more decades ago than I want to admit. I could have run this course without much effort then but.....

This is the rope climb but we're not finished and the ropes aren't in yet. The Navy expects us to tie a double bowline knot in 2" manilla hemp rope

A bit daft to put that advertising sign in the middle of the pavement. I moved it to the side, before someone fell over it.
Maastricht....one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands.
The city is a living and breathing outdoor museum, and the streets are full of reminders that the city once served as a Roman post, a city of pilgrimage, a medieval fortified city, and one of the first centres of the Dutch industrial revolution.
Shot somewhere near "Basiliek van Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Tenhemelopneming" along "Stokstraat Rd."

Another Demotivational poster created with fd's Flickr Toys, & inspired by the wickedly sarcastic "despair" series ( www.despair.com ) which is, itself, inspired by the famous Motivation posters.

The obstacles being other people...
Furzton Lake MK, which has become even more popular with lockdown and people taking their permitted daily exercise...Sometimes it resembles Piccadilly Circus!
I shouldn’t grumble though as it’s on my doorstep and provides opportunities for some people pics. Let’s face it I can’t go anywhere else at the moment...

Life's up and downs provide windows of opportunity to determine your values and goals - Think of using all obstacles as stepping stones to build the life you want. -- Marsha Sinetar
Have a beautiful Friday and weekend!
Rounding a bend in the river to river debris. The river was slow moving creating beautiful reflections and the smoke in the air created a definite eeriness.
