DOUG FORD'S STRATEGY...
By Bernard Bujold-
In politics, everything is strategic, and the objective is to take the chair of power.
For observers of political strategy, it's obvious that Doug Ford is aiming for the position of Prime Minister of Canada.
He's positioning himself against current Prime Minister Mark Carney, and he knows that Pierre Poilièvre will be easy to topple at the Conservative Party convention in Calgary, Alberta, January 29-31, 2026.
Doug Ford is known as the bull. He's aggressive, strategic, and doesn't hesitate to be sneaky with his opponents. He proved this against Carolyne Mulroney when he appeared out of nowhere to seize the leadership of the Ontario Conservative Party in 2018.
He played the outsider card, cleaning up the party and standing up for taxpayers.
Ultimately, in 2025, Donald Trump is merely a tool in Doug Ford's strategy to conquer the Canadian Parliament.

The overall protection objective in Uganda is to ensure that refugees and asylum-seekers have access to territorial asylum, fair and swift asylum procedures as well as full enjoyment of their rights It remains crucial for partners to continue strengthening the capacity of government institutions to respond to emergencies, supporting improvements in registration and the asylum system whilst continuing provision of life-saving services, monitoring and mitigation of protection risks. The response will continue to place a special emphasis on persons with specific needs, ensuring that they have equal access to protection assistance and the opportunity to participate in community self-management and decision-making. Promoting peaceful coexistence among communities remains a key priority as well as the provision of psychosocial support for individuals carrying trauma.
Diana Umuhozi, a 21-year-old refugee from the DR Congo, fled to Uganda in 2009 to escape conflict and find safety. After losing her father in the war, her mother took on the burden of caring for the family. Despite these hardships, Diana found solace in Uganda's robust legal framework, which ensures refugees have access to basic rights, including movement, employment, education, and healthcare.
Thanks to the collaboration between UNHCR and the Ugandan government, Diana received an individual Attestation Number a crucial identification document that allows refugees to access services such as healthcare, education and employment. As a result of her experiences, Diana was given counselling, helping her to deal with her father’s passing, and the conflict she had experienced.
The ILO, through its partner AVSI Foundation, addressed gender-specific needs in employment services by conducting a mobile mission in the Juru zone of the Nakivale Refugee Settlement. This initiative reached communities unable to access the Job Center in the Base Camp zone. Diana learned about these opportunities through AVSI's community drive.
Diana participated in a six-week hairdressing training program facilitated by the ILO. After completing the training, she started her own business with the help of a start-up kit provided by the ILO. This kit included essential items such as a salon mirror, hair products, a solar panel, and other salon equipment. With these resources, Diana began earning UGX 80,000 weekly, which allowed her to support her mother and aunt by covering food and medical expenses.
DIana has become a role model in the settlement, demonstrating the power of women's inclusion and empowerment. She actively engages in activities that create pathways for the protection and inclusion of other girls and boys in refugee communities. Her resilience and success inspire many girls, who often seek her guidance in hairdressing.
DIana's story highlights the impact of the ILO and UNHCR's efforts in providing protection and opportunities for refugees, fostering an environment of peaceful coexistence and empowerment.
Diana's journey signifies the impact of concerted efforts by UNHCR, and ILO, in enhancing protection and inclusion for refugees. Her story illustrates the transformative power of inclusive policies, legal frameworks, and advocacy in ensuring the dignity, rights, and participation of refugee communities in creating a future of resilience and equality beyond borders. The skills and start up kits that Diana received from AVSI and ILO have helped her provide for her needs, support her family and she feels empowered enough to stand on her own within the country of asylum and beyond.

This is my objective filtered image. I use the filter, Gallery, stained glass to change the picture to kind of foggy. I like this style better, because this form basic covers the weakness on original photo. And gives looker a new feeling. The thing I don't like in this photo is because this is my first time play it, so i didn't catch it very well, so the photo looks isn't in a great quality. But still very good! A
