It’s objectively too late to restrain population and consumption growth so as to avert what ecologists of the 1970s called a “hard landing.”
It is the lie that human society can continue growing its population and consumption levels indefinitely on our finite planet, and never suffer consequences.
Perhaps Donald Trump succeeded because his promises spoke to what civilizations in decline tend to want to hear. It could be argued that the pluralistic, secular, cosmopolitan, tolerant, constitutional democratic nation state is a political arrangement appropriate for a growing economy buoyed by pervasive optimism. (On a scale much smaller than contemporary America, ancient Greece and Rome during their early expansionary periods provided examples of this kind of political-social arrangement). As societies contract, people turn fearful, angry, and pessimistic—and fear, anger, and pessimism fairly dripped from Trump’s inaugural address. In periods of decline, strongmen tend to arise promising to restore past glories and to defeat domestic and foreign enemies. Repressive kleptocracies are the rule rather than the exception.
Yes.. when world leaders like Trump & Erdogan visit our country, we stage protest marches.

Our Association was organized in 1975 with an objective of "to promote within our community an understanding of and appreciation for our local heritage”. In 1979 and 1980 Hay Creek acquired the historic Joanna Furnace property from Bethlehem Steel and have broadened our mission to include the preservation and restoration of this treasured 18th & 19th century iron making community.
Today the organization is 1,000 members strong and relies on volunteer efforts and donations to preserve the history of the Hay Creek Valley. We invite you to visit us by "stepping back in time" and reliving the important history that surrounds our community.

Objective markers! I'm taking part in the Objective marker swap and figured that since I've had a wicked headache for two days that painting was out, but sniffing glue while I make things would be fine... I might as well get a start on them today... Heh, seems funny for me to make these as I don't play that much, but hey it's all in good fun.

While you are setting goals for yourself, a majority of them fall under four standard categories - health, #wealth, #relationship, and self-fulfillment. And the #goal attainment process involves strict efforts to find a balance for assured #success. A majority of people claim to understand that the key to success is basically better goal-setting method. However, only around 20% amongst the entire population is able to #achieve their objectives. The rest 80% either don't think about the same or just fail to achieve. So, before you rush to randomly start setting goals and objectives, understand that there are certain traps that keep holding you back and those are the ones you need to avoid. Counter Terrorism Security Advisors (CTSAs) hosted a Counters Terrorism (CT) Awareness event at The Albert Halls, Bolton.
Among the 200 attendees on Wednesday 2 July were officers and staff from the five north west police forces, local authorities, representatives from NWAS and regional fire services, who through the collaborative partnership provide support to help protect and prepare, should a terrorist threat occur.
Detective Superintendent Alison Whittaker, Head Protect & Prepare for CTPNW opened the event, said: “The objective for the day was to provide attendees with an insight into the current threat and how attack methodology has evolved over the years in the UK, looking at what security advice and guidance is available to them in order to support their local businesses, how to access it and who they can reach out to for further support.
“We need the communities help to deter, detect and disrupt hostile and terrorist activity.”
The speakers at the event included Sergeant Rob Philip from the National Vehicle Threat Mitigation Unit (NVTMU), Alex Ward from NaCTSO; Chief Inspector Matthew Worrell and Inspector Chris Hadfield from GMPs Protective Security Office (PSO); an input from Homeland Security Group (HSG), and our regional CTSAs.
They delivered an insightful and impactful agenda covering Martyn’s Law, Hostile Vehicle Mitigation, Anti-Terrorism Traffic Regulation Orders (ATTRO), Protective Security Advice for Events, CT First Aid, amongst other guidance delivered.
Bolton Council’s Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, Cllr Rabiya Jiva, said: “I was pleased Bolton Council could host the training event for specialists from the national counter terrorism network, blue light partners and local authorities from across the northwest.
“We hold several major cultural events in Bolton, including the nationally renowned Bolton Food and Drink Festival, so it is important to share expertise to prioritise safety and security.
“It was also good to see Project Servator officers deployed in the town centre to showcase the policing tactic while providing a reassuring presence for the public.
”Chief Inspector Lee Parker of Greater Manchester Police said: “A really informative and well set out event, highlighting the real need to understand the complexities of Counter Terrorism and the work continuously needed to mitigate the threat and risks involved.”
Erika Corless, who attended for North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) NHS Trust, said: “The day was absolutely relevant to my role within the emergency services, I will be looking to access some of the ACT learning materials for our staff.”
The session was supported by Janice McMahon from Steroplast Healthcare, provider of PAcT public access trauma first aid kits, and GMP’s Project Servator team.
Project Servator is a policing tactic used by a number of UK police forces.
It aims to disrupt a range of criminal activity, including terrorism, while providing a reassuring presence for the public.
It is an inclusive collaborative community strategy that aims to protect local areas and build upon the safety and security plans already in place to ensure safety and security.
The Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) campaign encourages communities to help tackle terrorism by reporting suspicious behaviour and activity that doesn't feel right.

In 1978 a 28-year-old economic advisor by the name of Ben Nitay was questioned on US national TV in a courtroom style debate regarding the Zionist state of Israel.
Among the many questions the young man answered with sincerity and candor, was one about the core of Arab-Israeli conflict.
His answer was that “the real core of the conflict is the unfortunate Arab refusal to accept the state of Israel.”
That was the truth in 1978, just as was in 30 years before 1948. It is the truth today, just as it was then.
He emphasized that, between 1947 and 1967 while the Palestinians had possession of the West Bank and Gaza that was taken from Israel in the Arab-Israeli War, the Arabs could easily have exercised self-determination and attempted to establish a Palestinian state, but they did not.
He said that “For 20 years we didn’t hear a word about Arab self-determination. But, in fact, what we did hear, those of us living in the Middle East, was about ‘driving the Jews into the sea.’”
Mr. Nitay drove home his point: “So let’s keep in mind that what we are talking about here is not the attempt to build a state, but to destroy one.”
The Arab objective remains “the destruction of the Zionist state of Israel.”
About the only thing that has changed about the facts of that interview between 1978 and 2013 is Ben Nitay’s name.
Today, Mr. Nitay spends his waking hours defending and protecting Israel and, as he has all of his life long, reminding the world of the true Arab objective.
Some days he is as a voice crying in the wilderness as he leads Israel from the Prime Minister’s office. Today his name is Benjamin Netanyahu.
If you were to watch the video of his testimony in 1978, you would see his passion for an Israel living in peace, and his equal passion to defend her against those who would seek to destroy her.
The fact is that Israel has done nearly everything possible to maintain peace and to protect her citizens while the Arabs and Muslims continue to plan Israel’s destruction.
Please participate with us as we commit ourselves to be praying for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6). The way is not easy, but the cause is just and right.

Shot for my Object and Objectivity brief at the Winchester School of Art.
The aim was to shoot a pair or diptychs, each with an object shot in two different ways; one to capture the objective as is it is and the other to show the object in perhaps another perspective.
This is the objectivity to one of the diptychs.
So I had suggested a friend start their 365 project with an image of 365 objects from their surroundings. I kinda liked the basic idea, so I gave it a shot myself - although there's probably not 365 objects in mine.
Survey objectives:
-To plan and conduct a transboundary survey from Port Alfred to Orange River to produce distribution maps and abundance estimates of the two species of hake to be later merged with similar data from a co-occurring Namibian national demersal survey, to enable complete mapping and assessment of shared stocks, thus providing a measure of the degree of sharing of the stocks at the time of the survey.
- To collect data on the maturity stages of the hakes to check for possible spawning activity.
- To collect other relevant data to better understand the environment impact on the distribution of hakes, and the fish community structure in the distribution areas of the hake.

Halloween on Hallow Green 2022 is organised by the Hallow Village Community Group.
Hallow Village Community Group is a growing body of volunteers whose aim is to make life here in one of Worcestershire's loveliest villages even better and we extend an invitation to you to help us to fulfil this aim by giving the Group your support.
The aim of the Group is to promote community activity in the village. The objectives are to involve all villagers; to look at all aspects of village life; to facilitate community events and to enhance communication and co-operation between village groups. The Group is not all about organising social events (although it does some of this) it also seeks to get things done in and around the village.
It's not a matter of need so much as want. So impressed have I been with my Nikon 70-300 VR that I WANT this lens, too.
This too, shall come to pass!

OPERATIONAL OBJECTIVE CAMERA
The device on display is an element of the standard set of cameras and reconnaissance equipment carried by the SR-71 in the 1970s. It is a stereoscopic camera designed to photograph the ground under the aircraft's flight path. This produces a three dimensional image that greatly eases the identification of the objects that are photographed.
