A visit to Roosevelt Island on 07.10.15 from late afternoon until evening. Across the East River, the spires of the Empire State Building and One World Trade Center were both shining in red, white and blue in honor of the US Women's Soccer National Team's victory in the Women's World Cup.
A short visit to the southern tip of Roosevelt Island on 04.26.14. The white cherry trees were in full bloom while the pink ones were starting to bud, a wonderful sight on a spring day. The island also has awesome views of midtown Manhattan.
A visit to Rockefeller Center and Top of the Rock on 08.01.14. The lights of New York look so pretty from up there.
Hey,
These photos were taken September 4th, 2015.
I wanted to visit World Trade Center now known as Ground Zero or the 9-11 Memorial. I visit here a lot because it is always changing but I am also obsessed with the Freedom Tower. I think I am still getting used to it. Honestly, I don't I will ever get use to it. It feels like I lost a relative and another is trying to step in feel that void. There is nothing like the Twin Towers but the Freedom Tower is a close second and a beautiful sight.
I like to come down and reminisce. It still has a eerie feel as us NYers are all still affected by the events. I usually come down and take pix with phone. However, rather than seeing it through the lens of my phone I wanted to capture through my camera.
Almost 15 years later things still are not complete here but the transition is huge and ever changing. It is starting to boom again with young professionals and tourists which is great.
I must say I am very happy and proud NYer.

Enjoy :) These are just in time for the September 11th Tribute. Here is my tribute, I guess :)
Cheers,

Our all night adventures ended in Hoboken, NJ on 08.23.15, where we awaited the day's sunrise. We arrived at the Pier A Park during the morning blue hour, but the east side was already starting to blush with the dawn colors. It was so great to be there and welcome the new day as the sun rose.
I did a photo meetup with the Photo Safari group and we went to Roosevelt Island for the afternoon. Therer were about 50 of us and it was fun! We did a LOT of walking!! I didn't know they had cherry blossoms on Roosevelt Island! Very cool!!
A ride on the NYC ferry on 09.09.17 from Roosevelt Island to Astoria, then from Astoria to Wall Street. The Astoria route just opened and I wanted to check out the views along the route.

A ride on the fire boat the John J Harvey from 23rd Street up to Riverdale in the Bronx for the Riverdale Riverfest, which was promoting plans for the Riverdale section of the Hudson River Greenway. These are pics of Manhattan's west side along the Hudson River.

A walk along the Newport waterfront on 03.10.18. The place offers great view of the Manhattan skyline. That night the Empire State Building was lit in honor of the Big East Conference and the 2018 Men's Basketball Tournament.
A Father's Day cruise along the Hudson River on 06.19.16. We were at the North River Lobster boat which left Pier 81 about an hour before sunset. The boat traveled north on the river with the 72nd Street basin in sight, then it turned back to return to the pier. On our return, I saw the full moon rising and tried to get some shots of the moon in between the builidngs, a moonhenge!

A visit to Brooklyn Bridge Park on 05.20.18.
I went there to check out the Glassbarge and the Schooner Lois McClure docked at Pier 5. The Glassbarge is owned by the Corning Museum of Glass, and there was a tour that included lectures and glassblowing demonstrations.
Lois McClure is a replica of a schooner built in Burlington, Vermont in 1862 for the trade between there and other ports along Lake Champlain as well as southward through the canal connecting to the Hudson and westward on the New York State canal system.
Afterwards, I stayed at the park for sunset and some evening shots.
