Creighton Dance Company’s production of The Nutcracker recounts the classic tale of a young girls journey, beginning at her parents’ Christmas party and into her nightmares and dreams. Eventually, Clara is transported to a land of “sweets” where she is entertained by the Sugar Plum Fairy and other dance “confections”. She is accompanied by her beloved Uncle Drosselmeyer, and the Nutcracker “doll” (transformed into a “Prince”) that he has given her as a gift. The cast features dancers from the Creighton Dance Department and younger dancers from the metro community.

Photos from backstage at the Ann Arbor Dance Classics performance of the Nutcracker on Sunday December 11th at Milan High School (Milan, Michigan). These are mostly from the second act because I was on stage for the first act. The performances are at 2pm on Saturday and Sunday December 10th & 11th, 2022. The Nutcracker was Composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Santa brought an old-school 80's play kitchen, and Grandpa & Dave brought an actual Nutcracker, just like in the ballet.
