Taken from the sea (up to my knees!) this shows the beautiful group of Nursing/Residential Homes that adorn the end of the promenade at Aberavon Beach. One of these homes recently made the news. Modified wheelchairs enabled staff to take patients with reduced mobility for a paddle! The wheelchairs have balloon tyres and are protected against damage by salt water. An elderly lady felt the sea at her ankles for the first time in decades, and it brought back memories and felt invigorating!
The Brady School of Nursing honored its 2016 graduating class with a pinning ceremony held Thursday, May 5, at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church. Thirty students were honored for completing the requirements for their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees. During the pinning ceremony, they were congratulated by Shorter University President Dr. Don Dowless and Brady School Dean Roxanne Johnston. The students also were presented with their nursing stoles, cords, and pins. Nursing faculty member Dr. Kriss Douglass led the students in the Blessing of the Hands, praying for the students to be the hands of Christ throughout their nursing careers.

Carl Sandburg College hosted an open house for the nursing program on Wednesday, Oct. 26, in the AA Building, the new home of the College of Nursing.
