Nugget Point Lighthouse was built in 1869 and stands 76 m (250 ft) above the water. Nugget Point, where this lighthouse is located is one of the most iconic landforms on the Otago coast. Located at the northern end of the Catlins coast down the road from Kaka Point.

Rocky headland

This was taken at Kaka Point, just south of Moeraki . This gull was incredibly relaxed, remaining in place even though I walked right by it. The rocks at Kaka Point are very similar to Moeraki, but more weathered - and fewer tourists!
