He is not that easy to see but he is there on the rocks. This species is found along the SE coast of NZ and some of its sub islands. On the Otago Peninsula numbers have dropped off by 75% since the 1990's partly due to an infectious outbreak in the 2000's.

Nugget Point, Catlins, New Zealand. We went there towards the evening just before a big rain storm. There's a lighthouse on the edge of a cliff. The sky is just starting to get angry and the sea is ominously flat.
