Update: We are making progress! We have found my mother in law a wonderful care home only minutes away from our house. She can move in anytime after Christmas!

We passed this guy who climbed to the top of this rock formation at the start of our hike. When we passed by on the way back, about an hour later, he was still there. Maybe he was waiting for someone, taking in the view, resting or...?
Evidently rock climbing is permitted in this area because there was a climber on each rock face near the parking area. Some were experienced; some seemed like they were stuck, like the guy in the next picture.

Expect that the captain aboard the ferry to Denmark, was reasonably "pissed off" when we didn't move our boat fast enough out of his way. Although they used the ship`s whistle / horn eagerly ...... But we were on a fishing trip and then everything else have to wait..... :-) Sorry Captain!
The Hortus is mostly in shadow now and the Sun barely rises above the roofs of the surrounding houses. Still there are attractions. One of them is this pretty Heath. It used to be called specifically 'herbacea' but most often went by the name 'carnea'. So often, in fact, that the IPNI in 1999 established that specific as the proper one. Old habits are hard to change, and the Hortus still uses 'herbacea'.
Our Heath is frost-resistant. The white ice crystals today make for a pretty picture on the mauve, yellow and purple flowers.

As I just finished shoveling more than a foot of snow I'm thinking about an island far from here and hoping I was there by the sea sipping on an expresso and just watch the day go by, one can dream right ?

Ronda now has about 36 thousand residents. It is located on both sides of the ravine of the river Guadalevín. The city consists of two districts. In Mercadillo, the newer part of the city is the church Nuestra Señora del Socorro. In 1557 came here hospital for pilgrims and the poor under the name Socorro. In the 18th century was built new temple which, after reconstruction and fire, in the 20th century was finally given this form.
