Day 95 - Notes by Robbie Kennedy

Taking on a lead in a show is daunting enough. Taking on the lead role in Mack and Mabel is even more so,

For Mack it seems like just one monologue after another...oh and did I mention all the songs he has to learn? I think there's 8 in all!!

That's a LOT of stuff to learn. I love doing shows, but I don't think I could ever take on that amount of work for what is, after all, an unpaid amateur endeavour.

So I have every admiration for the people who do. The two main leads in Mack and Mabel, our Annual show this year, are being taken by Shay Griffin as Mack and Jennifer McGann as Mabel.

These are two fine performers in every sense. Still amateurs, still doing it for the sheer joy of stepping out into the bright lights. Just like every member of the cast. But in every other respect..... total pro's.

Like most people, I'm quite happy to take my small share of limelight, sing the odd song, throw out a few lines of dialogue and hopefully get it right. But these guys are something special.

Hats off to them. It's a pleasure to watch them work :-)

I'm leaving tomorrow for Madison, WI. I think some people call it the "Paris of central Wisconsin". I'm presenting at this year's Canoecopia. I love the event and I'm so glad I can contribute this year. The problem is that with all that's going on, I really didn't have any time to fix my presentation slides that suddenly crashed and wasn't recoverable. I had to rebuild it, which was so time consuming, but even more stressful.
