5th Anniversary Coin Charm.
I really like this charm, but now my notebook doesn't look Mine, it looks like all the other promotional photos of Midori notebooks. So I'm not sure how long it's going to stay on here, I need some unique personalisation.

These two notebooks are bound using a chopstick on the spine. Both books are about 9" x 4.5" and have 50 pages.
The covers are made with cardstock. The darker pink book has pale pink Japanese metallic flecked paper for the first and last pages, and the remaining pages are pink. The lighter pink book has lightweight yellowish Japanese paper for the first and last pages, and the remaining pages are white.
Both books have a short beaded string embellishment attached at the top of the chopstick, and I used little flower images that I carved and printed onto the covers using gold ink.

Most of the notebooks I used early on, when I decorated them, I tended to just apply some stickers. I like this one, though, and not just for the Mallrats trading card featuring Claire Forlani in the corner. The arrangement is pleasing to me.

My notebook could be an archeological dig at this point, layer upon layer upon layer, with some stickers long lost and others, like the Exotic World and This or That ones being saved...
Another set of memories for me.
I made this little gardener's notebook because I wanted one myself! It has lined, blank AND graph paper, pockets on the inside of the covers, and features an original gocco-printed cover.

The notebook & pen set were the free gift in this month's Hello Kitty Magazine (issue #49) & the animal design pencil case was sent to me from Taiwan by my friend & very first Hello Kitty contact Ana (620)
The other day I almost cackled with glee when I noticed that the McGill Bookstore had received its new shipment of Clairefontaine notebooks. I bought the larger one you see here to replace the notepads I had been using at my desk to plan my day, record happenings, jot down notes, phone messages, etc. It stays at my desk, with my work.
The small Clairefontaine (also grid paper) is my general purpose, always with me, notebook.
The moleskine was meant first for recording 'big phd ideas', and then relegated to 'big ideas', and in general, doesn't get much use. In fact, I've stopped carrying it around with me.
I would recommend the Clairefontaine notebooks over Moleskines. They are of excellent quality, have a good spiral binding (takes up less place, easy to hold in hand and write with anywhere), and cost a lot less then the Moleskines (the two Clairefontaines picutred here together cost less then half of what the Moleskine set me back).
