The little shape on top of the tower gives a sense of scale as 72 tons of machinery slowly comes up to be bolted on..
Took this back in October last year one early Sunday morning at dawn. I set a long exposure of 5 seconds to smooth the water.
The old Barnstaple to Bideford Railway Line is now a cycle/foot path making up part of the SW Coast Path.
This view is taken looking towards the A39 Torridge Bridge from a point near the Old Bideford Bridge.
The path was used to film a programme in the series James May's Toy Stories where a model railway was laid along the path.
Taken on a short stay near Barnstaple in October 2013.

St Nicholas's Chapel Ilfracombe
Dating back to 1321 the chapel was built as a place of worship for the people of Ilfracombe living and working around the harbour.
From the middle ages the chapel maintained a light to guide shipping into the harbour. It is still a working lighthouse today and is said to be the oldest in the country.
Ok so the horizon is far from level and theirs a dot in the center (Long exposure on a DX sensor using a 35mm lens) But I like the colours and it was one of my first ever digital shots using a Nikon D100
