Class 33 diesel locomotives compared at Hither Green depot, south London on Saturday 21st May 1977. On the left is Class 33/0 No. 33054 whilst Class 33/2 No. 33204 stands on the right. The Class 33/2 locomotives were built to a special narrow "Hastings Line" loading gauge so they could safely negotiate the restricted clearances of tunnels on the route between Tonbridge and Hastings.
