Il più bel posto del mondo.
This is my favorite field trip fault. It is a normal fault in sandstone/shale strata along the Devil's Slide walk/bike trail, south of Pacifica, CA.
I use it as one station in the field trip where I ask students to sketch and label the fault. They spot it pretty quickly, and they can get up close and personal to observe the drag characteristics in the fault.
The strata were thrust up from the floor of the Pacific and accreted onto the western side of N. America.
Given the drop of a couple hundred feet to the surf on the far side of this outcrop, I expect this fault is also the lower surface of a slump, as the upper block slips toward the void.
It would seem I have French on my mind at the minute. I’m not sure why but c’est la vie. I keep hearing the term ‘The new normal’ being bandied about on social media and traditional media alike and to tell you the truth I don’t really get it. Of course, I get the obvious meaning but the pre-pandemic world we inhabited was an ever-changing Smörgåsbord of world threatening problems and the word ‘normal’ was never one I’d use to describe it. We just didn’t have to wear masks occasionally and wash our hands so much. Perhaps it’s a chance for improvement?
It is A2 in size and made using Acrylic, water colour and paint pen.
Cheers

I was almost normal in my outfit last night and hardly retro looking at all.
The old makeup was a bit worse for wear after being on since 8 in the morning, and this was taken around 10 in the evening.
The dress cost the grand sum of a pound and the shoes were gifted a few years back. Sorry about the lack of painted toes I didn't get around to doing them.
