Sometimes it's the little scenes that make me swoon. I did a lot of swooning at Belle Isle Castle, for each room was gorgeously decorated. It took me an entire afternoon to make my way from room to room, photographing all the little details that appealed to me. I feel lucky that a smooth little teapot sitting just so in the window light can make me smile as much as an unexpected rainbow* over a beautiful city.

IMG_0354-c - 1987 addition to original 1874 house included a great room, the angled nook shown here and a mudroom, workshop and garage.
My fave place to have breakfast, look at the garden, watch the birds and squirrels. One of the new corner shelves displays part of my aqua collection, my grandma's black and white enamel top table couldn't get any better along with these awesome aqua chairs I scored at a sale! Plus the lovely bloomin violets, trays, plants, and a little cupboard full of my vintage tea towel collection. Who wants to come over for tea?
I must admit I do sometimes get confused between the various forms of pipit. That being said I am pretty sure that this is a Meadow Pipit. It was seen feeding on the beach at Donna Nook.
At a first glance it appears to her a bland bird but when looked at closely it has some fabulous plumage detail.
This is my little breakfast nook. Wow, I've past by it for 10 years now, never noticed how pretty it was. Thanks for all of your kind remarks! Highest Explore position #193!!!

Found this beautiful little nook in a local (gorgeous-and busy) park.
PP-used Color Efex Pro to add a little contrast and a tiny bit of a dreamy feel, because that's how it felt to me.
Actually, I just realized that "technically" this pic does meet the dare. Although it doesn't look like it, this park is in the middle of the city. I have another shot of a different bench that shows that perspective. :) I'll link to it in the comments.
Even though it was probably raining, or about to rain while we were at Rancho Naturalista, there was still much to photograph. Just add a tripod and long lens.
I loved watching the fog fill the little valleys around Rancho Naturalista.
There is a walkway near a library, where the slates are crooked and the bushes are overgrown. . . and the light is as beautiful as anywhere else in the city any autumn afternoon.
