Between beginning of May & July I lost 16 lbs studying for NYS exams so the wedding, my birthday & looks was definitely the last things on my mind... So many things changed over 11 years & I don’t think that even at least one ambition I had at that time today is important. Maybe it’s true what people say your plans are not God’s plans. Things worked out but definitely not the way I planned that July.

Figured I should be a good sport and take a pic of myself "right now" like everyone else. So sexy! No makeup...hair not done...cyring for days..scratched left eye (all red)..and eating! LOL!

decided to participate in todays TRP, digital makeup, in order to play around with some new mineral makeups (virtually) that I'm about to get. I wanted to challenge myself by wearing NO makeup when I took the picture, rather than just trying to enhance makeup or wearing foundation then applying the colors.
I tend to go to browns, greens, and other earthy shades for eyeshadow, so I went out on a limb a little and used tiger lily yellow, ivory, perfect plum, and peridot. the blush is "sunkissed", "precious" lip gloss over "saucy" lip stick. Totally a different look for me, more bright and spring/summery.
I might try it with plum colored eyeliner instead of black. depends on my mood. but definitely black mascara.
Want more info on the makeup? ask me. Mineral makeup is the bomb, especially if you are like me and don't like to wear makeup and don't like the way it feels on your skin.
Techie stuff:
Most of this was done with multiple color fill layers and merge modes that best suited the particular color/makeup. but I did an awful lot of blurring to simulate foundation/pressed powder covering up these icky pores. (I wish I'd had the sense to comb my eyebrows though) Sharpening and burning on the eyelashes to make them appear darker (but not necessarily longer) but the eyeliner was paineted on manually in a seperate layer set to "multiply"
i dunno about this, part of me loves this because its different and i like the old soft focus look but then part of me hates it, cus it isnt a 'good' photograph, oh i dunno. i worry too much.
Yuppers, today I'm in Calgary (just after a shower) as I had a little rendez-vous with my man in the hotel his work has him staying at this week... I happen to have an appointment in this city today, so we got a sleep-together on a work day. (not what we routinely do as he works away from home).
And.... I just had to take some shots in the hotel robes... they are so warm & cozy!

i got my eyebrows threaded sunday afternoon. :)
and in the evening, i found out that some chick that was/is part of the circle of friends we were hanging w/ 2 years ago or so, is running rampant with bullshit spewing from her mouth. and while it didn't really surprise me, b/c i had already cut her out, as far as any trust goes, it's amazing to know that i'm still topic of conversation and stories that make HER life more interesting and exciting.
i went on to try and delete the connection on FB, and i realized she had blocked me. i certainly have no clue why b/c she just PM'd me a couple of weeks back about comments and friendships she sees that have absolutely nothing to do w/ her. anyway, i just think that blocking people is silly. i just do. i know for a fact that i'm blocked from a handful of people and i'm ok with that b/c it shows that they're the ones that felt they needed to block me in order to control/curb themselves. if the friendship is cut and your shit is private what more concern do you have? to boast or look at your list of people you think you have a slight control over b/c you hit that "block" button? yet, there's still talk about said block person, in this case, myself as i'm finding out now. dumb.
anyway, what a rant! haha! maybe it's tied to being in zombie-mode and having to be at work today.
and if you're offended by this, then too fuckin' bad. in the tone and with the same enthusiasm as Bender from the Breakfast Club, "b-o-o, h-o-o".
So, my first photo in my project 'We, the natural' .. I did an outdoor shoot with Ellie and Sophie today, and i will put a few photos up from that later, and then I did one with my studio lights with Ellie, this is one of my favourites.
I have not retouched her face at all (although, i did retouch her hair a tiny bit as there was cake mixture in it...)
She has no make-up on at all..it's all natural : )

Switched salons after the move, new stylist has convinced me to let my natural curls come out to play more often. If they only looked this good all the time.
I'm getting a bit bored of self-portraits. Eventually I'll find people who actually don't run away from the camera.
