Rosso Dennis Dart Caetano Nimbus HV52WSL 169 in Bury on the 461 to Norden, 18.11.17.

This is just a sample of the photos from this trip. All my bus photos from this month are here: mkttransportphoto.smugmug.com/2017/November-2017/UK-Bus-N...

I've had a week of evaluated highs and incredible lows within my art. I go through stages of feeling inadequate and not having a worthy voice to feeling inspired and confident in the things I am saying through my work. I think sometimes I need to remind myself that worshipping your own ideas isn't a self-indulgent motion, it's a human beings right to enable life through creative channels.

I guilt myself into thinking I'm not 'normal' and I don't 'fit in' but really I just need to stop giving a shit and just create for the sake of my own sanity.

Anyway, with that being said, I've vlogged the making of this image and it's going to be posted on the 23rd Dec. I created the halo using an old coat hanger wrapped in fairy lights and then suspended it from above on a backdrop stand!

Modern Comeback Veronique Perrin in "Nimbus" by Cholo Ayuyao

I had a ride on preserved Devon General 1958 Albion Nimbus Willowbrook SN839 (XTA 839) at Winchester yesterday, 5th March, 2025. I remember this bus during my time in Devon in the late eighties at which time it put in rare appearances on Red Bus Services' Exeter to Dartmoor route. The last time I rode on a Nimbus was during a school trip to Guernsey back in 1978.

This Albion Nimbus (now preserved) originated with Halifax Corporation - but in June 1975 it was working for Harvey of Mousehole and was pictured in Mousehole (Cornwall).

Nimbus - the happiest dog in the world :-)

The sound of the water and sight was impressive. These are some of the largest flows I've witnessed. This is the Nimbus Dam releasing water in the American River in Sacramento.

Before going to lunch today, January 13, 2017, I stopped by to get a couple of shots of Nimbus Dam at the east end of the American River. Nimbus Dam holds the water of Lake Natoma which contains the water released by Folsom Dam upriver from Nimbus Dam. From this vantage point one can see 15 of the 18 gates of Nimbus Dam that is less than 1 mile south of where I live. As of today, the Sacramento Bee reports that the season rainfall for Sacramento is 16.57 inches; for the same date, last season had 5.76 inches; the average amount of rainfall per season is 8.39 inches; and the average amount of rainfall per season is 20.27 inches. A season's rainfall is measured from October 1 to September 30.

Taken from the box base:

"Eric Wert (American, b.1976)

'Nimbus', 2019

Seeming to glow from within, Eric Wert's 'Nimbus' revels in fine detail, from the petals of the toppled arrangement to the fabric wrinkled by stitches in the background embroidery. Wert started his career as a scientific illustrator, and this 1000-piece puzzle shows off his style of visually intense, sensually charged still lifes that are anything but still."

This beautiful Pomegranate puzzle was a surprisingly loose fit, probably the first time I've noticed this in one of their puzzles. It's one of the more recent additions to their range so that may be the reason I've not experienced it before, but it didn't mar my pleasure one jot. More worrying was the constant fear of there being a missing piece - they were loose inside the box and the box itself had scruffy tape marks, often an indication that the previous owner didn't take much care. In fact it turned out to be complete although a couple of pieces were slightly worn.
