I need to share the background on this image. We went up on Hawk Hill, hoping to see the bridge towers poke out above the fog. Wrong. So we went the other way - down to the water's edge to see the towers and cables of the bridge disappear into the fog. Not what we had planned, but not a bad alternative.

Once again I am very pleased to announce that for the third time in a little over a year I am again in Black & White Magazine. The internationally known magazine has honored me with a Portfolio Excellence Award and has featured 7 images in a 4-page spread in the 2014 August issue #104. The spread is on pages 28, 29, 30 and 31. I have also been honored with many other international awards.

Photomontage, although the original image was captured in 2013 the cloud was captured in 2014 and the image was post processed in 2014. This image is another in my “Cloud” series.

The new headquarters of the European Central Bank, moving began this weekend. Let´s hope, they will make a good job.
The bright look of the building is caused by the reflections of clouds all around.

Manhattan Beach Pier
I had to have my Epson 3800 printer repaired and since I live in a small town the only place to fix the darn thing is in Redondo Beach some 200 miles away. So I made a day of it. I left early because I had to struggle with LA traffic, especially the 405. That gave me some time to hit the beach for some photography since the place didn’t open until 9 am. Everything worked out perfectly since I had an appointment and while they were repairing my printer I had a great meal at the “Spot” in Hermosa Beach. Going home I hit a little traffic on the 405, but not bad considering it was the 405. This image is one from that morning shoot. I hope you like it.

This image was captured during a Meet Up with our 5DIII group. Led by Bob Canepa (bcanepa_photos) and Mike Baird (mikebaird). This is an exciting group all about sharing expertise and information. We also have fun photographing at our meet ups. The group is now morphing into a group with any camera type. Point and shoots to the high end DSLR’s. Everyone is welcome. We meet at different locations every 2nd Sat, of the month and have a different subject matter to photograph as well as going freestyle.

Snow Canyon State Park is tucked into the southwest corner of Utah, about 45 minutes from Zion National Park. It features a vast array of different landscapes, from 'petrified sand dunes' to lava flows and caves. This image is on the way back from the '3 Ponds' trail.
