3. Red-breasted Parakeet Part 1
A summer night with the cool breeze and shining stars, the silence and whispering of the wind through the trees... Perfect Summer Night.
First attempt at Astro photography with really no special preparations. These pictures were taken from Agawa Camp ground in Lake Superior Provincial Park in Ontario Canada. It was the middle of the month so there was a full moon but still managed to get these shots

Night shot of New Orleans accross the Mississippi River from Gretna when I worked there last summer. Taken later on from a slightly different spot to my first upload, Cantilever NOLA .
At first I was disappointed to have the couple in the bottom right of the shot, but quite like that detail now!

The night.
It has always inspired poets, musicians and painters... not least, we, photographers too.
What's so fascinating about it?
In my opinion, the night lives in mystery. Let's deprive it of that secret aura that surrounds it and we would have lost it...
It’s a whispered dialogue of soft caresses between lights and shadows, which generates three-dimensionality, much more unpredictable, ever changing and delicate, if compared to what happens under harsh sunlight.
It therefore allows us to access, while awake, a oneiric world.
It is no coincidence that magic arises precisely from the relationship that each of us has with the abstract and the unfathomable.
Although we spend our lives looking for answers, perhaps unconsciously we do not want to understand everything, maybe we yearn to be amazed by the unexpected or by what goes beyond our understanding... in a subliminal desire to regain that secret dimension that goes BEYOND what we have lived and experienced so far.
Long moonlight exposure taken in the highest and most remote area of the Tour d’Ambin, which I did in summer 2022 with my girlfriend.

California poppy is called "Slaapmutsje" (Little night-cap) in the Netherlands, because they close their petals in the evening or during the day when there is almost no sunshine.
