passing conversation between me & you last night
you on your way to work, me on my way home.
you: don't be alarmed when you get home. . .
me: why?
you: there are a ton of buzzards in the back field
me: what died?
you: pause (for effect i'm sure)
me: is it bad?
you: it's a deer in the river bed
when i get home i snap off some shots of the event and continue to wonder what happened and just how bad it's going to smell very soon :-(
it's not all ugly though, just look at all this lovely color and light right around 'the end'

This Night Heron was in the deep shadows under some cypress trees at Green Cay Wetlands. The image shown here is about a 1/3 crop of the actual shot.
The shot was taken with the Fujifilm X-T2 using an adapted vintage lens The Nikkor 180m 2.8 ED AI-s @ 180mm, f2.8, 1/125, ISO 800.

I spent a few mornings at a rookery in NJ with a number of herons and redwing blackbirds. There were a lot of herons flying in and out making nests, but I got a kick out of this one with a just-woke-up hairdo. I liked how the greenery formed a portrait frame for this shot.

In the last years I made several trips to Frankurt (actually mostly stopovers on route to other destinations) in hope of getting some shots of its skyline. All of these ended in rain and heavy clouds with very low visibility. Until finally this year I got lucky!
