So many of these places are gone now, including this one, which was an asylum in New York. This multi-purpose recreational room was used for sports, plays, and movie showings, among other things. I was able to visit this location twice, the first resulted in my friend falling through a floor onto just behind me in this shot. Thankfully, he was fine, and made for a funny story later, but at the time there was a great deal of initial panic for his welfare and how in the world we would get him out if he was injured. He walked away having just ripped his "adventure pants," and hence the nickname for this location. © 2013-Current.

The Hall of Mosses Trail in the Hoh Rainforest (part of the Olympic National Park) is filled with old temperate trees covered in green and brown mosses. Trees include bigleaf maples and Sitka spruces. The mosses on the trees do not damage the trees. However, the trees can fall by the winds in storms because of their shorter roots due to the abundance of nutrients and water in the forest. Many trees and mosses grow from and over the fallen tree trunks.

With more than 25 miles (we biked) of beautiful Batan Island coastline to explore, one can discover quiet villages, stunning landscapes, massive waves, picturesque ports, stunning cliff top and unspoiled white beaches by using a bicycle!
Biking may be challenging in this beautiful island but it's all worth! In case you didn't bring a bicycle, you may rent one.
