Snowy Shortoff - SHARE IT IF YOU LIKE IT!
I had a great time exploring the areas around Linville Gorge during the second snow of 2015! I had the distinct pleasure of meeting some great new four-wheelin' friends at Wiseman's View, and they were kind enough to ride with me down the rest of old NC 105. Along the way, we stopped a few times to take in the beautiful views of the snow-covered Linville Gorge and were treated to this view of Shortoff Mountain at the south end of the gorge. You can see Lake James in the distance as it meets the Linville River as it exits the gorge. This hefty thistle was growing straight out of the concrete and rubble in a courtyard at the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, PA. Though the prison is abandoned, it's open to the public for visitations for a minimal fee. This is why this album is named after the actual location and not some code name to keep the location safe. I don't know what the status is right now due to COVID, but even at half capacity the prison is enormous enough that you could easily keep a safe distance from everyone. © 2009-Current.
This is Nara, who helps with his family’s sticky rice shop. Every morning before the sun comes up, the family gets up to roll rice into bamboo and then pack them in the end of bamboo stalks. The bamboo is cooked over an open fire. The outside of the bamboo is shaved down to make it look attractive and sold to customers.

Aside from condors, the King Vulture is the largest vulture with a 4-7' wingspan, depending on the maturity and the sex of the bird. This is the actual name of the pool in Yellowstone Park, not me being creative. Although Celestine is a mineral of a very light blue color, it was named after the Latin word for the heavens, which certainly goes along with the beautiful blue quality that seems to mirror the sky perfectly. Although I enjoyed the beautiful pools of Yellowstone's natural environment, the smell was a bit daunting. Sulfur is, for sure, not a friendly smell. © 2011-Current.
A room full of empty cabinets, though some labels were still there, in an abandoned asylum. This particular location had some pretty kickass views from a lot of the windows in the administration building, since it was one of the taller buildings on campus. © 2013-Current.
