A gigantic kitchen space once attended many workers and visitors to this spa and resort in upstate New York. The concept of spending several weeks at these resorts stopped being popular in recent years and many of the locations closed down, including this one. I can only imagine the insane amount of movement and food that would have to pass through this space on a daily basis. © 2013-Current.

Spring is here and the bumblebee queens who survived winter are out to start new hives <3

Another oldie, before I got my DSLR. This is a Père David's Deer, a female, resting by the rocks near a river in her enclosure at the Bronx Zoo. She and her herd are one of many herds in captivity since they were hunted to extinction in the wild in China centuries ago. Today, only about 700 are in the wild, but the species is slowly recovering from it's extinction. This lady, to me, looks pregnant. The herd at the Bronx Zoo is pretty substantial, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. © 2009-Current.

An abandoned tuberculosis ward sported a room full of identification cards for patients and drawers full of supplies, mostly broken. The ward was manned from the very early 1900s to the late 1970s when it was left to rot thanks to modern medical treatments to battle TB. Another building was erected right next door that became a psych ward, but that was closed down in the 2010s and about 300 patients were ousted into the world since institutionalization was no longer considered an acceptable means of treatment. © 2015-Current.

The reason for the name of this trail - a remarkable resemblance!

This trail loops around an area of slickrock where there are numerous potholes. These basins in the sandstone retain water after storms. The trail offers great views of The Needles in the distance. The trailhead is located along the Big Spring Overlook road in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park, Utah, near the end of the road. The trail informs visitors about the little shrimp that thrive in the potholes of the slickrock when they are full of water.

Cascade Falls Regional Park is a 22 hectare park located just northeast of Mission, in the Hatzic area. The park's main attraction is Cascade Falls, which drops an impressive 30 metres into a large emerald pool. From here, Cascade Creek runs into a series of smaller falls within a deeply incised gorge as it drops an additional 18 metres before emptying into the tranquil lower pools.
