Bizarrely, I took 3 seconds to throw together a collage for Halloween yesterday and it made Explore. My friend Mike put a lot of personal time and effort into creating an amazing Halloween masterpiece and made Explore. Neither of us are on Flickr for Explore, but I truly do not deserve it. Strangers will look at our images, fave them without reading our comments and will know nothing about us and the stories behind our Explore. There is no comparison. Congratulations Mike, you are an amazing photographer.

I'm not quite sure who was more surprised as I came around from behind a massive Palo Verde tree to unexpectedly find a small group of Mule Deer grazing. For a few moments, we were the same -- animal observing animal -- eyes wide open & hearts racing -- all equally surprised, startled, scared, & curious. Before I could raise my camera, they had started to scurry away, but this little fellow couldn't help but to stop & stare (from a "safe" distance, of course), before disappearing into the desert. | McDowell Sonoran Preserve, AZ
