The day before I took this shot we hiked up a mountain that was used in the Lord of the Rings as a filming location in the Wanaka region. From the top of the mountain we had a marvellous view on lake Wanaka and specially on Glendhu bay. We saw these trees in the water from the top and we decided that we had to shoot them. It was getting late and the sun was setting over the southern Alps, so we decided to go the next day. We camped in our car and the next morning we drove to where we suspected the trees to be. It turned out to be quiet a challenging way as we had to climb over a couple of electric fences and the terrain was incredibly swampy and wet. Eventually we arrived and we were wet and tired, but I think that it was definitely worth it. It's funny how sometimes you go somewhere and you end up discovering a shot that you couldn't have planed, that has nothing to do with your initial destination.
This was the scene on an autumnal morning overlooking the fall colours in the waters of West Lake in the Adirondack Park, New York. The colours of the trees were amazing to witness at that time of year, and I like the reflection of the old post in the water.
The word ‘bund’ derives from an Anglo-Indian word for an embankment along a muddy waterfront and that is what the Bund was originally.
When the first British company opened an office at the Bund in 1846, it became the epitome of elegance. Now many attractive new constructions have been erected in addition to the historical buildings.

A cousin of Skogafoss and look-alike of Seljalandsfoss, Kvernufoss gets only 5% of the visitors that its bigger sibling gets. With its origin from the south slopes of Eyjafjallajokull, this fall is exceptionally beautiful and is still a tranquil place for a peace seeker.
