A surreal anthropomorphic brain with bulging cartoon-like eyes, sitting nervously in a shabby, old armchair inside a decaying, cluttered room. The brain has dangling nerves like tentacles hanging over the chair, giving it an awkward, uneasy presence. The environment is dusty, filled with old books, shelves, and peeling wallpaper. Cinematic lighting, claymation-style textures, hyper-detailed, dark comedy aesthetic.
Honeysuckle is a sweet Neuron but she couldn’t spell her name to save her sweet piggy tail! Honeysuckle enjoys smelling bad things for you. The hat comes off for summer time but the tail is forever. She is very proud of it and loves to tell you about all the things she has gotten it stuck in. She is a manifestation of my own rebellious neurons that have caused a movement disorder.

Op 10 maart 2018 vond de eerste editie van Neuron D&B plaats tijdens een NIEUWE NOR NACHT in poppodium NIEUWE NOR. Met méér dan 250 liefhebbers van donkere drum & bass-stromingen als Neurofunk was de try-out een doorslaand succes. Fotograaf Sander schoot enkele plaatjes en een volgende editie komt eraan!
Kirsten Fischler captures neuronal imagery in her paintings. She has been inspired by her partner, a neuropathologist. Neurons are nerve cells that communicate information electrically/chemically with other cells.
