Participants of the Forest Watcher App’s training and networking workshop held in the city of Filadelfia in the Paraguayan Chaco, test the App on the tablets before heading to the field for a training the day after. Aimed at introducing the recently developed App to local organizations, so that they could use it to monitor the deforestation and alerts such as fires in the region, it counted with the presence of members of several national and international organizations, including FAPI, GFW, WRI, Tierras Indigenas and was done with the support of Rainforest Foundation Norway.

15 times, I have cycled 7 days, 575 miles, from San Francisco to Los Angeles in a cycling charity event called AIDSLifecycle. In route to Los Angeles, I (and 2,000 of my best friends) cycle thru Montecito - the home to Oprah Winfrey.
Each Year, the locals of Montecito gather and create their own "Paradise Pit Stop" for the approx. 2,000 AIDSLifecycle Cyclist & 400 Volunteer Crew members. There you can find: chocolate bars, strawberries, homemade ice cream, vegan treats, corn dogs, Twinkies, coco cola, massages, and then some.. ... ALL YOU CAN EAT ...GRATIS!
Years ago (as I ate my strawberries and homemade ice cream), I asked several Montecito residents: "Where is the Oprah Winfrey Network?"

The 2016 Global Parliamentary Conference will take place on 10-12 April 2016 in Washington DC, in the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund headquarters. The Global Parliamentary Conference is the Parliamentary Network’s flagship event, co-organized by the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank & IMF, the World Bank Group, and the IMF. It brings together some 200 Parliamentarians from over 100 countries, leaders from civil society and partner organizations, in addition to top officials from the World Bank and the IMF. Participants have the occasion to hear about the most recent work of these organizations and discuss pressing issues in international development. Confirmed keynote speakers include World Bank President Jim Yong Kim and IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde.
The agenda is packed with stimulating and informative sessions, as well as many opportunities for discussion. It is also an occasion for the Parliamentary Network to highlight objectives and priorities for its work over the next year.
