Armed with waders and landing nets, these men devote a lot of time and effort netting ‘Dwarf Crayfish’ to use (or sell) as fish bait.
The gent in patent number 499,965 hopes his net keeps the mosquitos away. A careful examination shows a metal framework at the top to keep open space between his scalp and the net.

Standing water at the edge of the beach parking lot had this interesting textured pattern on the pool's floor. Closer inspection revealed hundreds of tiny inhabitants. Polliwogs!
I wonder if these are the rare spade foot toads - which aren't really toads at all, but frogs.

The fine mesh nets, which will be illegal from November, are the white ones in the bottom right-hand corner.
I would love to see this worn by a spring bride! Circa 1940's tall pill box style with matching netting~~gorgeous!
Another scaffold net. But I like to call them "veils." For the sake of metaphor. So many veils in life. And yes, I have a set that features only scaffold nettings (beautiful veils).
So one day I got obsessed with making the beaded lace medallion from this link:

And I offered on Facebook to basically make them for anyone who wanted to claim a color. This is the first batch.
You can always tell a vine in the pacific northwest by the characterisic moss. Bird netting: optional.

This is the scene on the road into a nearby village after workmen covered hedgerows in netting, on at least two sides of a large field, in preparation for the building of four hundred new homes, the same netting (only in green) was also used on a larger development close by. Increasingly developers are using this hideous hedge netting to get around the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981) which prevents the disturbance of nesting birds. This allows them to rip up trees and hedgerows at a time of their choosing and avoids any costly delays that our wildlife might inflict upon them. Concerns have been raised about birds and mammals becoming trapped and the timing could not be worse for our native hedgehogs as they are emerging from hibernation. As the pictures show there are plenty of holes in the netting for wildlife to enter and then become trapped. Hedgehogs are particularly vulnerable to becoming trapped in netting because their backward facing spines prevent them from reversing out.
