Manufactured as a knitted fabric, the debris netting has an open mesh construction which reduces wind loading on scaffold structures and improves site safety by reducing the risk of small objects or tools falling outside the work area.

With a 2011 Innovation Grant, Chris Bowser and his team from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation are working to restore habitat for the American Eel. At the same time they work to engage local youth in the project, teaching them about eel ecology and conservation, and providing a positive volunteer experience.

The strawberry plants are now all behind bird netting. This is not to keep out birds, but hopefully to keep the squirrels and chipmunks away so that they do not realize there are strawberries growing here.

This is a machine that ties your christmas tree up to make it nice and skinny for the ride home. Christmas Tree farms as well as places that sell pre-cut trees use them. The machine itself has always fasinated me ( yes, I know how strange I am :)

Usually this thing is doing heavy labor...maybe the stores being open at midnight last night made a difference in the "first hour" crowds at the farm...but today it was not in constant use. I liked the metal and the wood all seeming to serve a fucntion.. where the string is and and how is gets wound around the tree I do not know.

This is my first attempt at netting. I am learning this to make 13th-14th century style hairnets for SCA use. It's actually pretty easy, much easier than it appeared from the instructions. But I still have trouble getting it even.
