Debris Netting for Scaffold

With a 2011 Innovation Grant, Chris Bowser and his team from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation are working to restore habitat for the American Eel. At the same time they work to engage local youth in the project, teaching them about eel ecology and conservation, and providing a positive volunteer experience.
This seems to be Wire Netting Bush. I like the almost purple-blue-green colors of its branches and remaining leaves in winter.

The strawberry plants are now all behind bird netting. This is not to keep out birds, but hopefully to keep the squirrels and chipmunks away so that they do not realize there are strawberries growing here.

This is a machine that ties your christmas tree up to make it nice and skinny for the ride home. Christmas Tree farms as well as places that sell pre-cut trees use them. The machine itself has always fasinated me ( yes, I know how strange I am :)
Usually this thing is doing heavy labor...maybe the stores being open at midnight last night made a difference in the "first hour" crowds at the farm...but today it was not in constant use. I liked the metal and the wood all seeming to serve a fucntion.. where the string is and and how is gets wound around the tree I do not know.
