These nests were collected over years, from cut-down trees, blown out of trees, etc. Now I'm giving them back to nature...

This nest was just hanging about 4 feet off the ground in the old dried out reeds in Ellison Park.

There is a bird nest on the tree.

Chicks will be there after a few weeks.

Blairmount & The Nest is a self catering Luxury 3 bedroom rental cottage in Moulin, Pitlochry. Set in the heart of highland Perthshire, this is the perfect location for a family holiday, or a base for exploring Scotland.

One of our baby Robins leaving the nest.

He couldn't fly too well and was too close to our ponds; so we followed him and watched him as he finally caught up with his brother and Mom.

They still stay around and we see the Mom feeding them.

All our kids leave home! SMILE

Waiting to see ours on Sunday!

Enjoy! Gasport, NY - 30 miles from Buffalo

This little Carolina Wren has built it's nest in a folding camp chair that's sitting out on a deck. It apparently doesn't bother her at all that she's less than a foot away from other chairs that are in constant use. This morning she flew up on the deck, walked past us to "her" chair and hopped right in. She was then nice enough to "pose" for this shot.

Steel pipe is rusty and some rat in it, looks like this is one of the canceled install water pipe.

Over the last week I have become increasingly concerned about the great blue nest near our house. It appears had the young bird has not survived. This image is the most expressive of the many I made today as I watched the nest -- one adult in the upper left and the other near the bottom right of the frame looking deeply into the nest. We hear now only one voice, the adult in the nest quite vocal and often frantically animated.

Another delivery of food to the Robin's nest.

The nest appears very used at this point compared to the photo I took earlier this week. The white cigarette filters make pretty good nesting material! Mom flew away from the nest when someone with two dogs walked by (they didn't even notice) and I took the opportunity to grab a shot. With all the traffic, dogs, and now soccer practices and commotion, she was surprisingly calm. A few days later I expected the eggs would have hatched, but the nest was empty and abandoned, most likely due to a predator.

Condo with a view, this active nest is hanging over the Mississippi River at Coon Rapids Regional Park......

Spotted yesterday at a tiny park on the north end of the island, English Boon, a huge nest in a fir tree at the parking area. The parent is on the tree to the right making noises. There are two eaglets who were not to be seen today.

The sparrows feel its time to find a nest site. This one selected a rather safe space in a solid wall.

A pair of house finches are building a nest in one of the hanging baskets on the front porch. It's not too convenient for us, but these birds seem happy, acting like they've moved into a five star resort ;-). The basket is sheltered from the rain and sun by the porch overhang. There are big birch trees out front where they can hang out and watch over the nest. There are several bird feeders and a couple of bird baths in the back yard. What more could a little finch want?

The female finch is watching from the birch tree to see what I'm up to on the porch.

Found this under the playhouse in the back yard.

Rebecca had actually discovered it during the summer, and it was swarming with what she called "bees" -- they were yellow and black but were actually wasps or hornets of some kind. I sprayed the nest a couple of months ago, but only today removed it.

I was tugging at some bindweed, and wondered why there were suddenly a lot of wasps buzzing around. Turns out this nest was hanging from the tree about a foot away, and being shaken whenever I tugged!

The House Martins are back! It's been a couple of years... The sparrows took over the previous nest and it collapsed...

Spring is coming. Pussy willows up north with last season's nest. Watercolour painting, photographed through glass - one of the many nests I have painted.

The Tigers Nest is located 500 meters up the mountain on the edge of cliff.

The Tigers Nest is a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and temple complex, located in the cliffside of the upper Paro valley, in Bhutan. A temple complex was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup (stag tshang seng ge bsam grub) cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three years, three months, three weeks, three days and three hours in the 8th century. Padmasambhava is credited with introducing Buddhism to Bhutan

Kehlsteinhaus, also known as the Eagle's Nest. Present for Hitler in the German Alps

Both nests built by House Martins and refurbished over the years. But this year's nesting is a little different to other years.

A Wren has been roosting in one of the nests during winter, and this year a pair have produced youngsters - the picture shows a Wren on the left feeding them. And the other nest has House Martins who also have young.

Would be nice to have a photo of both feeding at the same time, but I don't have the patience :)

This is what happens when you get close to a nest of Canada geese. They come rushing in, and hiss, and make all sorts of maneuvers. Mom-to-be glares at you, ready to tangle with you if you get any closer, while the future dad takes cover behind his wife, content to just look fierce.

The eggs were hidden under the leaves. Smart goose.
