The sunset changed to fast last night. It was so fascinating.

Monterosso al Mare is the oldest village of the Cinque Terre and the largest, it does not look like other villages. Unlike them, it has the distinction of not being suspended from a rocky promontory in the manner of other villages, and it is the only one of the five villages to have a large accessible beach.

My second trip to the Faroe Islands in summer of 2019 and we spent a couple of days in Suðuroy which coincided with Jóansøka, the island's annual festival. Suðuroy has about 4500 people and is the furthest south of the Faroe Islands. The weather was kind.

I had flights booked for earlier this month but unfortunately they were cancelled due to Covid. Maybe next year...

I have a short movie about Suðuroy which is at

Our average temperature for the whole month of January in this part of Northeast Ohio has been 21.6° (–5.5°C). Winter's not been here for a month yet, and it can already be called the coldest in about the last 5 years. These two northern cardinals don't seem to mind the frigid conditions.
