For the first day of Wellington High School's Homecoming week, students dressed up like nerds for 'Nerd Day' today, Monday, at school. During lunch, the students dance in the courtyard, joking around with one another.

This picture links into the theme stereotypes as it is a clear image of a “Nerd/Geek”. I have portrayed this by having a number shirt, with a pair of geek glasses and reading a book. I think by not using direct eye contact it shows the stereotype better as she is too engrossed in the book. I have also chosen to use a long shot so they are able to see the whole of the image and what she is wearing. To improve this image I could change the background of this image to a plain white background so she as the main focus stands out more.
Stumbled onto a cool place to hangout at. Check it out if you're a nerd like me. :D

Right now it's 01.11.01 here in the Philippines, but it's still 01.10.10 in the States... which means it's CHUCK SEASON 3 DAY! Yeah, it's starting in a few minutes. So, to celebrate it, I got me my Nerd Herd duds on. Blog post here

#selfportrait confession time. i'm a nerd. have been since i can remember. tried on different coats of nerd. started as a child with bug nerd and evolved into book nerd. then there was photo and writing nerd. cool nerdiness followed with circus nerd! and now i've settled into yarn nerd. specifically crochet. not just your regular "forever long scarf" hooker, but the fine-detail kind that has fallen in love with amigurumi. the yarn world always seemed odd, even for my eccentric tastes. now that i've woven my way in i have found a meditative practice that results in adorable plush critters. leading me to believe that even the oddest sounding hobby can have a world of undiscovered fun.

Well, it seems my second picture didn't upload for some reason, so here it is again!
I first took this picture as I sat outside, watching the sunset, because I thought the cloud rather reminded me of the Battlestar Galactica (NERD ALERT, right?). Then, as I watched it head out to sea, I thought more about the hydrologic cycle, how water had evaporated somewhere nearby (or far away), condensed in the cooler air of the high altitudes and formed the cloud I watched. Would it continue out to sea and gather more moisture? Dissipate? Or, perhaps, get drawn into a frontal clash and turn into a system that would rain water back down into the ocean?
I recently read Issac's Storm by Erik Larson (great historical narrative by an amazing author!) which, among other things, talked about some early beliefs in weather, like shooting cannons into the sky to either bring about or repeal storms. Hogwash as we know now, of course. But what if we actually *were* able to harness some part of the water cycle - prevent some of that moisture from emptying in the seas and redirect it to drought stricken areas? Maybe even dissipate cloud cover in our gloomier NorthEastern/Western states? Initiate small storms in the dry plains?
I finally cleaned up my room enough to show people. I think this gives you an insight into the nerd I truly am. About 5 years ago I discovered my inner nerd and I have since let it out of the box. I am very proud of my nerdery. Perhaps you are too, share your nerdery with everyone.
haha, it's kinda funny seeing him SMART. xD
he's still a hot nerd though ;D
