Ginger: She is our resident Word Nerd -- asleep on the job.
Jefa: Have a heart, guys. She was up all night working on her novel. Looks like she might have been looking for nerd in the Rodale's. And there we find her, between neologism and nerve.
Ginger: Is nerd a neologism then?
Jefa: Yeah, it goes back to the 50's at least in a Dr Seuss book. I've had this book for nearly 40 years and it's not here, but it isn't a dictionary. Nerdism is gaining a whole new respect these days. I'm proud to be one.

This is an alternate shot I provided Gizmodo for the article The Proper Way to Talk to an Internet Helpbot.
Although the colors and and composition are arguably stronger in the shot they chose, I also like this shot because it shows off the character's face a bit better, including the use of levers for eyebrows. It took me few hours to come up with the head design, and although it was difficult, it was still a lot of fun. I'll definitely create more characters in this scale.

It’s not a usual Nerdly character for sure, but this is how I felt whenever I visit BrickNerd….it’s inspiring! Besides the top notch builds by many respected builders, many new builders or un-noticed builders with their own unique style and building character being featured on BrickNerd which offers me new things, new perspective and new friends :) but what I love the most is Tommy’s writing who have a light and fun tones and sometimes makes me smile and makes my day :D

There have been many great video games in the past four decades, but one of the games that I'm sure many of us AFOLs remember most fondly is the classic Lego Racers, so for this year's videogame-themed Nerdvember I decided to build BrickNerd's mascot Nerdly as the main antagonist of that game, Rocket Racer, along with his sleek race car. Just like Nerdly, it is at a 3:1 scale. Nerdly Racer's arms, legs, head, and visor are all posable and the wheels and steering wheel on his car turn just like on a real Lego car. Nerdly can be put inside the car, although his legs are a bit wide, so they need to be taken off to do so.
Played around with a wide angle lens, and thought it would be funny to do a portrait at 17mm.....

After all of the trials and enemies, the party of Sir Bricklius had finally made it to the top of Mount Nerdness. Before them was the treasure they had all dreamed of: the Chalice of Nerdiness. It is said that when one takes a sip from this chalice, they obtain nerdiness infinitely larger than any other being in the world. However, there was one obstacle still in their way, and this one was the hardest yet…

I've been wanting to do this shoot a few months now and we decided to finally get out and try some test shots so as I can start thinking about some more ideas for the upcoming pictures ill be doing with him :) !
