I had no idea that this was a Newfoundland word until one day I went to look it up in the dictionary. (I know...why would someone do this but I tend to be a word nerd.) Well, my definition of the word 'squish' was not found in Webster or any other until I checked out my Newfoundland Dictionary. (Yes, there is one, I have it, and it is huge!) So here it is as I know it, "asquish (also squish, squish-ways): aslant; diagonally; awry; askew; out of alignment; in desperate straits."

It was a hot, muggy day and wasn’t that much cooler by the Great Lakes. When we stopped at Wells State Park, we were planning on spending the night camping at one of the three rustic campsites. After relaxing by the lake with our feet in the water for a while (the site was right next to the lake) we decided to head home instead. We’ve learned that it’s okay to not stick to plans if they’re not serving us. Having the van has made changing up things so much easier and we find ourselves rarely sticking to the original plan we had 100%. We’ve found a lot of great adventures doing things on a whim!

Last in this series on Ice. Another one for fun. I could not resist posting this one. At first glance it was like looking at a Gary Larson comic character. A typical nerd. Googly eyes maybe from really thick glasses and a goofy buck-toothed grin. Nerdy, but innocent and very friendly.
