Windows 10. Do you know what that means? It means that theoretically, you can stream your Xbox on to this Windows 10 device which could be upstairs in the other room.

I'm so nerding out right now. Does anyone have any other cool facts about this? I haven't looked into it 100% but I am probably going to order one this month, since they run for $35.

This is the end of an era...I finally tackled discarding all my old engineering textbooks a few weeks ago, but letting go of the volumes of hand-written class notes was hard for some reason. I haven't looked at these things in nearly 25 years, when they got put up high on a shelf when I bought my house. Seriously; they "sparked no joy", but for some reason I couldn't part with them. I wonder if they represent some disappointment in my career, and how it never really met my own expectations. Maybe holding on to these things was some way of hoping for the day I'd do greater things.

Today, I was procrastinating against a bigger foe, so my old habits came to the fore... do something equally uncomfortable... and so, my old notes, papers and signs of my investment in becoming an engineer are tossed to the recycle heap.

I can be forgiven, then, for keeping a few digital images, right?

Just a little something for Nerdvember.

Okay, it's official, I'm having way too much fun doodling these little guys. I wonder why I didn't try sooner! I don't really sketch like I should (it shows--the stiff poses doing nothing, ha!) but this is kind of like a puzzle to me that I'm enjoying cracking. 'What would a leopard kid look like? A buffalo?" and so on.

I think I'm gonna work the elephant kid into a little illo for fun. Thinking nerds eating lunch in the schoolyard-- maybe a turtle will be his friend!

the CUTEST tattoo!!!

What better way to participate in Nerdvember than with a build of this year's Nerdly himself!

So this is my favourite moment of Frocktober so far. A couple of weeks ago I took my flouncing around in frocks to a couple of local art events. And at one I met Dr Susan Hayes! All right, she's not incredibly famous, but she lives locally, and is a facial anthropologist responsible, amongst other things, for the reconstruction of the features of Flores Man (Homo Floresiensis), also known as 'The Hobbit'. So I went full nerdy fangirl on her, and we did a selfie. She's a lovely lady, and it was a real pleasure to meet and chat to her. That's some of her art on the wall behind us and she is, of course, holding a reconstruction of The Hobbit's skull.

I think a lot of what I admire about her is that she sits on the boundary of art and science, and that's not something enough people do.

And that story is surely worth a donation to our Frocktober fundraiser. You can do it here: www.mycause.com.au/page/185933/it-has-pockets

This week has sort of been a downer so far. I got my bio test back, and I made a 72! Then I got my honors history test back (the one I thought I did good on), and I made a 75. I've been studying my butt off for this? =(

This picture kind of made me angry too. It was my favorite, and upon closer inspection was very fuzzy. Can nothing go right!?

I still have piles of work to do, and I have a honors government test on thursday. o_0

Texture!

The end of the Nerd 80085 Hunt just 1 week away, so if you sexy geeks and naughty nerds want a passing grade, you better grab your study buddies and head on over to Cleavage!

You don't need to be a genius to know that 1L hunt items are a great bargain!

Part of the first batch of internet meme embroidery. I'm thinking of working these in to a big quilt or wallhanging (with blocks made to look like computers). Each is about 4" by 6". Blogged.

Nerds, my Irrealdoll Nur is back from his face-up trip from angeltoast <3

Had this idea floating around for a while, but I did not get around to building it until yesterday. I love the Lamborghini Countach and the G1 Transformers character Sideswipe, so I wanted to make Nerdly into the coolest car ever. Also threw in a nod to penny racers with the overall proportions. Good luck to all who entered and I hope you enjoy! Will post more pictures of just the Countach later.

Postprocessing with Photoshop:

- boost contrast / dodge and burn to the main subject

- tonal contrast

- add and adapt background images

- inking

- finishing (Glamour Glow)

Time for some more nerd wear.

a lot of imperfections, but I saw them later -.-
