Who doesn't love Nerds. I've been on a kick for the past couple of nights.

This was my original plan for picture 30 of the 365 project, until I got the moon.

"The Nerd"

A comedy by Larry Shue

Live on stage at Weathervane Playhouse in Akron, Ohio, from April 28 to May 15, 2011

Directed by Rohn Thomas

What would you do if someone you’re supposed to admire shows up suddenly at your birthday party and then refuses to leave? That’s the central premise of "The Nerd," a hilarious, hijink-packed comedy.

Set in Terre Haute, Indiana, in late 1981, "The Nerd" introduces us to the hysterical dilemma of a young architect named Willum Cubbert, a long-suffering yet straight-shooting man. We learn that Willum was a soldier in Vietnam before he became a successful architect, and he feels deeply indebted to a mysterious stranger named Rick Steadman. After being seriously wounded in battle, Rick saved Willum’s life. And because he was unconscious during this daring rescue, Willum has never really met Rick. Consequently, Willum is delighted when Rick shows up unexpectedly at his apartment in Terre Haute on the night of his 34th birthday party. However, Rick’s uncouth manner and his inappropriate behavior threaten to throw the happy occasion into serious shambles. It turns out that Rick is a stupid "nerd" who overstays his welcome with a vengeance. Have you ever heard the saying that “fish and houseguests stink after three days?” "The Nerd" pays humorous homage to that clever maxim!

Don't mind me, I'm just reading my 1969 mass market paperback (first Dell edition) of Logan's Run.

The only reason I have this is because Chase is a peach. Did you know that at this time you can't (easily, anyhow) find a mmpb version of Logan's run for under $25? There is a hardcover from 1992, but you can't always find even that. And yet? Logan's Run, one of those classic almost-classics. The film was overshadowed by Star Wars, and was too soft anyhow. Child gangs, dystopian future, strident future world law. Why is there not a modern reprint in mmpb form?

on my car - sad when a sticker falls apart...

Freaking TWINS!

Anyway, this is my sister proving that the gals in family don't need a lot to transform our looks. She has her high school reunion in a year from now...

Damn, it's like she's still back in 2002.

On a totally different note, thank you Kristina for the sweet testimonial. I've got THREE TESTI'S now!

Sorta different note: No, I will not grow up and stop being so crude. I like bewbs and nekkidness.

Who says just because you're a nerd on the inside means your a nerd on the outside.Just because you are smarter than others doesn't mean your part of the outcast.

Just for the record just judging by my audition I would have never thought I would make it to the top 4!!!

Last picture with the Blackberry for a while. It was 10:00pm and I was desperate, because I hadn't taken a shot all day. (That makes me sound like an alcoholic.)

Amelia and I were talking about parenting. It's hard for me, coming in when The Kid is 12, and not understanding all the hard work and efforts that's been going on the first 11.5 years before I met him. I'm trying to jump in, but we just have a lot of different beliefs. One thing that we defnitely agree on is how awesome of a kid he is on the inside. He has a heart of gold and the sweetest soul I've ever encountered on a kid his age.

And it's especially hard to talk about parenting issues when he's in the room with us, hence the instant messaging. Nerds.

This is my youngest granddaughter, Maddie. She started the trick or treating off early at our house. Seeing how much she's grown up made me reflect back to Halloweens when she wasn't taller than me. The year she was Snow White, something magical came across her when she put that costume on. My favorite was the year she was Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. Her older sister dressed as the Good Witch. They were an adorable pair, and I do believe Maddie thought those shiny ruby slippers could make her fly! They grow up way too fast. It's been several Halloweens since Maddie sat for a picture. This will be one to add to that book of memories.
