Young cat I see from time to time. Today it's in a driveway - seems to need a place to call home

Blood's Garage is a full-service gas station with auto repair and "customer service the old fashioned way." This is true. I happened to drive by (with my camera) on a Saturday morning, then turned around and went back. The owner, Brian Blood, noticed my interest in the "FRIENDLY SERVICE" sign and invited me into the office to see the many retro items on display. Although the posted hours showed the garage to be closed, one bay was open and work was underway. A customer pulled in to ask Brian's opinion about a "knocking sound." It seemed like the old-fashioned service station of my youth.

(This photo was on display in the office - not sure where, when or by whom it was taken.)

I put a 14 foot piece of treated 2 x 4 into the lake one spring with two holes drilled in each end, and a rope connecting them so I could bend it like a Bow.

It took all summer of bending it some, letting it dry out, rebending it over and over, but a ended up with a 12 foot section bent into a quarter circle without splitting it, and it hasn't split in two years.

I built my house out of yellow pine and I suspect I picked up two pieces of scrap thinking they were treated, so I need to replace them with treated wood and everything needs restained, but it's held up for more than a decade!

Random picture of the car, desperatly needs a wash. Black coloured cars are so hard to keep clean.

Redcliffe Humpybong Creek needs a clean

Everyone should see this dramatic native wetland biennial. I don't say everyone needs to have them in their garden though. They are very prolific, coming from seed by the thousands. If you want to leave just a few I would suggest cutting them off before they go to seed. The first year they are a modest herb, less than a foot high. Suddenly, in June of their second year, these attention seeking divas shoot up to heights of six to eight feet. And all that with purple stems! If they are not allowed to go to seed, angelica plants will return more like a perennial. This aromatic native has many traditional herbal and medicinal uses.

Why does anyone care? In a nutshell having Paintball on ESPN is BIG. It could be the injection that Paintball needs. If there are suddenly millions of new players because they've seen it on TV and thought they’d have a go themselves, EVERYONE will benefit. Yes, it’s been tried before and to some extent it worked but this time we have a good shot at making something that looks amazing!

Why is this one different to the others? Simply put, this piece is being filmed by the ‘A-TEAM’ of Paintball video production people. In the past, the people filming have had little or no experience in shooting paintball, thus missed a lot of the action. This time it’s a star studded Paintball-Filming ‘Who’s Who’. HMFIC is Brad ‘ Beastman’ Maughan, ETV’s Main camera guy and ex Dynasty Player; Dan Napoli, ETV’s director; Pat Spohrer & Aivren Antonio from Monkey With a Gun; Rob from Der Der; Tyson Maughan; (ETV Rivalry cinematographer) & Sami Ansari (ETV Season 1-2, Dynasty Dysected); Narrated by Matty Marshall.

All of these guys can film & edit paintball and do it well. They are THE best in the business.

So what’s my point? Well, this NPPL Web Cast is a foot in the door to ESPN. They have given paintball a second chance. They are basically saying if the viewing figures this weekend are good enough then ESPN are going to take a serious look at making Paintball into a full on show. If the figures suck then it’s ‘thanks but, no thanks’.

So what can we do? If you’re in America, Australia, Latin America or Asia then please log onto ESPN3 and watch, subscribe or whatever you need to do to get the viewing figures up. Which leaves the rest of us around the world… For whatever reason we poor Europeans and lots of other Paintballs around the world just can’t log into ESPN3 and watch :-( so we have to take alternative action. I would love it if every paintball in the world e-mailed ESPN3 and said they want to watch Paintball in their country!!

How? It’s easy..

Click this link: http://espn.go.com/espn3/feedback?mode=null&event_id=4

In the first dropdown box click ‘Programming’.

Then enter your e-mail address.

Then copy and paste this message (Change the area to wherever you live and can’t watch the action):

Next, the dummy needs socks. I’ve had these socks since high school (over half my life ago) and they’re a bit faded – much like the past glory of the team they will now represent.
