Autodromo di Monza - the birthplace of speed as some would call it. Monza needs no introduction, every blade of grass screams history and it's elevated banking stares at you from all angles.
Set within parklands and within a mainly residential area you would not really know it was there if you drove by.
Home of the Tifosi, Monza gave me great insights as to the lengths a passionate Formula 1 fan will go to get a glimpse of their heroes. Ladders, campsites, bikes you name it, they bring it.

Dover Air Force Base, Del. (Sept 20, 2011) – Working as Mortuary Affairs Specialist has never been easy. It’s a job that needs to be done with the highest level of dignity, honor and respect.
It is a job where all senses get sharpen, where everything stop for a moment and all kinds of thoughts go through your mind: your childhood memories, your old friends, even your dreams. That is when you realize that it could be you… No other experience in life can get you closer to life than death itself.
Then you start thinking of that fallen soldier, about his family, his friends and all of a sudden you realize that this is it, they will no longer have him physically and that is really when you have to do your best to immortalize his presence through his belongings.
That is what the soldiers for the 246th and the 311th Quartermaster companies (QM CO) have been doing for years. Their members, out of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, do the best possible job to bring to the fallen Soldier’s families their last memory and they made it last forever.
The Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations (AFMAO) at the Charles C. Carson Center for Mortuary Affairs and the Joint Personal Effects Depot (JPED) are the two facilities that work directly and deal with the fallen soldiers remains and personal effects on Dover AFB.
The AFMAO mission is to fulfill the nation's sacred commitment of ensuring dignity, honor and respect to the fallen and care, service and support to their families. A solemn dignified transfer of remains is conducted upon arrival at Dover AFB, from the aircraft to a transfer vehicle to honor those who have given their lives in the service of the country. The vehicle then moves the fallen to the Port Mortuary at the Charles C. Carson Center for Mortuary Affairs. Once positively identified, the fallen service members are prepared for transport to their final destination as determined by the family.
“This is a nice job, but it is a tough job also, mentally tough… you have to deal with dead bodies…the person in the body bag could be your friend, could be your brother, your cousin, or it could be one of your family [members], said Staff Sgt. Franklyn Seda, a member of the 311th QM CO with 22 years of service, who has been working here for the last three months.
Staff Sgt. Seda is part of the uniform team, one of the four teams integrated by 1st MSC Soldiers. This group of soldiers is in charge of putting together the last uniform, including ribbons, medals, badges, etc., that the fallen soldier will wear until his last stop. They make sure everything is wear according to military standards.
The other teams on this facility are family, case manager and driver teams, which are the ones responsible for coordination, the support, the transportation and movement of the family members of the fallen soldier.
On the other hand, Staff Sgt. Jeysha Alarcón, a 10 years veteran expressed: “I love what I’m doing…I think I make a difference… you are doing something for someone that gave his life for this Country”.
SSG Alarcón works with the case manager’s team. “We put everything to send these soldiers back to their families” she pointed out, meaning that they do their very best on this job.
Joint Personal Effects Depot (JPED), one of the facilities that our soldiers support, has the mission of receive, safeguard, inventory, store, process and determine final disposition of Personal Effects (PE) of deceased, injured or missing DoD personnel in support of current Overseas Contingency Operations.
“We take so much care of their personal effects, we have great people in here, including civilians… they make sure that everything get the most detail, the most care possible, so when the families opens that foot locker they see everything is folded, everything is nice, everything got taking care of, so they don’t think that the military is not taking care of soldiers even after they are dead”, said Capt. Efrain Irizarry, a member of the 246th QM CO who works as a Summary Court Martial Officer for the JPED.
Both, Col. Tom Joyce, AFMAO Commander and Lt. Col. Kelly Kyburz, JPED Commander, expressed their satisfaction of having the 1st MSC Soldiers working on their respective facilities. Lt. Col. Kyburz also informed her intent to keep employing 1st MSC soldiers and added that they are in need of more troops like the ones from the 246th and the 311th QM CO.

This is a photograph from the annual Na Fianna AC "Bob Heffernan" 5KM Road Race and Fun Run which was held in Johnstownbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Tuesday 21st May 2019 at 20:00. This race needs no introductions as it is is now firmly established on the Leinster road racing calendar with athletes travelling from all over the region to take part. The race has gained a glowing reputation as being one of the fastest 5KM road races in Ireland. It is one of the rare occasions around road racing circles these days where a very small club can organise a very successful large participation race. The attendance at this year's race exceeded all expectations. Today's race had another very large attendance with over 620 participants finishing the race following on from around 500 finishers last year. Popup Races were the official timing and event management partners of the race.

This race commemorates the years of work and volunteering that local man Bob Heffernan gave to Meath, Leinster, and Irish athletics from grass roots upwards and his work with the host club Na Fianna AC. Na Fianna AC are typical of many rural sporting clubs who have a large catchment area which combines rural North Kildare and South Meath taking in Enfield, Rathmoylan, Johnstownbridge and Baconstown. The race, known affectionately by club-members as simply "Bob's race" is a fitting tribute to commemorate his contribution to this sport. Indeed, not many road races are held in the same affection by runners as Bob's Race with runners returning back every year to sample the course and the wonderful atmosphere again. More rarely heard is runners reminiscing of running this race 15 or 20 years ago! What a fantastic endorsement of the race.
Indeed, we remember the days 16 years ago when this race was held in the village of Rathmoylan about 10 miles from the current venue. In those days the race was deemed a success if 75 to 100 runners made the start line. What a testimony to the hard work of Na Fianna AC today's race is! The weather was perfect for road racing - hardly any wind and warm temperatures - with bright hazy sunshine.
The race is part of the Popup Races KIA Race Series. The race is also part of the annual Meath AAI Road Race League despite the fact that the race is run completely in County Kildare. The current route for the race has stayed the same over the past few years. However previous to that the race was held in Enfield and also Rathmoylan in County Meath. The race starts on the busy Enfield to Endenderry road and this requires a big effort from stewards and marshalls. However, as always, the event was a resounding success with personal bests and great runs from many of the participants. The course is very fast and flat - it is a one loop course which is left-handed in terms of turns. Indeed some parts of the route between 2 and 4 K have been resurfaced recently adding a flat smooth track like surface to this section. The prize giving and refreshments for runners is provided in the Nightclub section of the Hamlet Court Hotel.

Establishing a new Australian standard of excellence for environmentally sustainable design in civic buildings, the building includes: use of planting together with a thermal labyrinth for passive filtering and tempering of air; incorporation of extensive natural light; solar-tracking timber louvre systems; automated fabric shading; mixed mode ventilation; extensive photovoltaic array; geothermal cooling bores; green roof; rainwater collection and recycling; and sustainable material selection.

Tonight at the pottery studio I was trying out a bunch of new glazes and glazing techniques.
I'm still on the fence on these. The glaze is a recipe mixed up by David from Colby-Sawyer college, but I think it needs more tweaking for better results.
Beautiful friendly young female Guinea Pig. My daughter went away to college over 1200 miles away and couldn't take her baby. I've been trying to keep her, but I have a Pit Bull mix that can not handle when she squeaks I've tried everything but nothing is working. My dog shakes, can be in a dead sleep and when the pig makes a noise she is up and running to the cage. My other dog a younger pit mix could careless, plus my cat don't care either. So, I am looking for a loving caring home for this beautiful little girl, cage included. She needs someone who will give her lots of love and attention. Also you can not mix a male and female in the same cage, but if you have another girl it may be great for both of them. They get very lonely. The downtown area of my town has a lot of nice buildings that I never really paid much attention to, until I had my camera with me.
Today I went for lunch with my two best friends Alex and Neadra for my birthday. They got me incredible gifts, they're so sweet. I've had Alex as my photo of the day a few times, but not yet Neadra. She's stunning, and my photostream needs her pretty face soon!
In partnership with the Tim Tebow Foundation, Liquid Church hosted Night to Shine, a prom for teens and adults with special needs on February 9th, 2018.
At all moments there needs to be at least one person somewhere in the world looking at digital pictures of Switzer Creek online and thinking fondly about the creek. Look at this modest obstruction of coarse woody debris and think fondly about the surface films on the small area of water stagnation backed up behind it.

Why does anyone care? In a nutshell having Paintball on ESPN is BIG. It could be the injection that Paintball needs. If there are suddenly millions of new players because they've seen it on TV and thought they’d have a go themselves, EVERYONE will benefit. Yes, it’s been tried before and to some extent it worked but this time we have a good shot at making something that looks amazing!
Why is this one different to the others? Simply put, this piece is being filmed by the ‘A-TEAM’ of Paintball video production people. In the past, the people filming have had little or no experience in shooting paintball, thus missed a lot of the action. This time it’s a star studded Paintball-Filming ‘Who’s Who’. HMFIC is Brad ‘ Beastman’ Maughan, ETV’s Main camera guy and ex Dynasty Player; Dan Napoli, ETV’s director; Pat Spohrer & Aivren Antonio from Monkey With a Gun; Rob from Der Der; Tyson Maughan; (ETV Rivalry cinematographer) & Sami Ansari (ETV Season 1-2, Dynasty Dysected); Narrated by Matty Marshall.
All of these guys can film & edit paintball and do it well. They are THE best in the business.
So what’s my point? Well, this NPPL Web Cast is a foot in the door to ESPN. They have given paintball a second chance. They are basically saying if the viewing figures this weekend are good enough then ESPN are going to take a serious look at making Paintball into a full on show. If the figures suck then it’s ‘thanks but, no thanks’.
So what can we do? If you’re in America, Australia, Latin America or Asia then please log onto ESPN3 and watch, subscribe or whatever you need to do to get the viewing figures up. Which leaves the rest of us around the world… For whatever reason we poor Europeans and lots of other Paintballs around the world just can’t log into ESPN3 and watch :-( so we have to take alternative action. I would love it if every paintball in the world e-mailed ESPN3 and said they want to watch Paintball in their country!!
