A shot taken last weekend (I've fallen waaaay behind again after a fruitful week of shooting). This one was shot at Glasgow Necropolis. Not generally a subject I seem to shoot often or get much out of, as I'd discussed with others in my photo group since.
The Glasgow Necropolis is a Victorian cemetery in Glasgow. It is on a hill above, and to the east of, Glasgow Cathedral (St. Mungo's Cathedral). Fifty thousand individuals have been buried in approximately 3500 tombs. It was conceived as a Père Lachaise for Glasgow, and subsequently established by the Merchants' House of Glasgow in 1831.

Oh, and its worth noting that the Necropolis is open after 16:30, even although everything including the signs on the gates say its not.
Glasgow Necropolis is a large Victorian cemetery in located in Glasgow, Scotland. Like much of Glasgow it was built to impress and contains several large and elaborate mausoleums.
Glasgow cathedral taken from the Necropolis. Despite being in the Necropolis several times I hadn't discovered this angle till today. Just after taking this the clouds gathered and the rain came on. I will be exploring it again on the next good day!

Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I'm still right here
What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

Populonia (Necropolis of Populonia) is an ancient Roman city that had originally been Etruscan and named Pupluna or Fufluna after the Etruscan wine god, Fufluns. It was situated on the western coast of central Italy on the Monte Massoncello Peninsula—the only large Etruscan city directly on the sea. The reason for the city’s existence is found in the vast slag remnants from the smelting of silver and iron ores from the nearby island of Elba. The city became wealthy and prominent and was the first city in Etruria to coin silver (second half of the 5th century bc).
