Biz Connect is one of the Council’s signature events and always provides incredible opportunities to make lasting business connections. This year—for our 50th Anniversary—we embarked on a new adventure: a sunset sail and premier cocktail experience aboard a luxury yacht, The Horizon’s Edge.

Róisín McCallion likes football, musical theatre, and punk rock. She’s a serious sit-down policy person by day, a silly stand-up comedian by night, and prats around as drag king ‘R’ Graham on the weekends. She’s Yorkshire born, Oxford educated, and also spent an ungodly amount of time in a psychiatric unit. Róisín McCallion is also desperate to fit in. The only issue is, when you’re everyone’s least favourite clichés mixed together in a NutriBullet, that becomes quite the task.

'Keeping Up Appearances' is a reflection on Róisín’s experiences trying to navigate her mid-twenties as a mentally ill queer northerner in London and coming to the realisation that trying to be everybody's cup of tea really isn’t worth the effort. Frequently found desperately seeking attention on London’s comedy scene, Róisín’s debut solo show is not one to be missed.

Huge storms a few days ago washed out large sections of the trail in the valley between Woody Pass and Rock Pass. As another potential storm approached, we decided to push it over this unstable section before nightfall.

Last game of the regular season for the Rauderz and it looks like we'll end up coming 6th on the ladder. It was only 2 weeks ago we were coming equal second but a few crucial wins and losses by other teams put us where we are now. Still, not a bad effort by the boys. Tonight was another win for Rauderz. Why the pic of the shoes and not of the boys in action? Well, apart from not getting any great shots, tonight I also left my basketball shoes at home and had to run in my Air Max Navigate. Not a great shoe to be playing ball in, and I was almost certain I was gonna roll my ankle in these kicks tonight, instead I ended up scoring my highest points all season. Go figure.

Friends from Europe come by and join us at Pier 40 for some free kayaking. Yes, that is the legendary Hoff !
